Hi, I am currently enrolled in UC Davis majoring in Civil Engineering. I want to become a registered California Professional Land Surveyor. I will be taking an elementary surveying course in the spring and want to take the LSIT in the summer. According to www.pels.ca.gov
"LSIT applicants must have completed:
Two years of postsecondary education in a Board-approved land surveying program.
OR
Two years or more of work-related experience in land surveying.
OR
A combination of one year of postsecondary education and one year of work-related experience in land surveying.
AND
Never have been convicted of a crime substantially related to the practice of land surveying.
I will have completed two years of post-secondary education in ABET accredited Civil Engineering program. Is it still possible to take the exam? What exactly is a board approved program? If you have take the LSIT do you think it is possible to pass with one introductory course and some self study?
