LPR Sufferers who don't respond to ppis. Have you tried a GABA agonist like Lyrica?

They do have a test that verifies if it is acid coming up into your throat. It is a 24 hr pH with a probe that is placed above your vocal corRAB behind your uvula. The probe is connected to a computer and measures any acid that hits it during the 24 hours you wear it. During the entire time wearing the probe, you can see the pH on the computer. After the test, when you get results, they will have printouts that reflect the pH and any reflux incidents you have had and the duration of the incidents.

There are a couple types of probes for LPR. The best is one by ResTech. It came out in 2008 and even measures acid in its gaseous form. The other probes aren't quite as sensitive.

This was helpful in re-confirming my reflux since mine is "silent" and I never actually feel the acid, just the irritation to throat and lungs.
