Lowering the Street Glide

got a 2010 street glide. I know it sets lower than some of the other touring models, but im 5 9, and i have really large legs. I'm sick of being on my toes all the damn time. Has anyone put any lowering kits on their SG's with success?

Thanks again!

u are the first person that lower the sg....
usually others will make it higher
sg stock shock is 12"...change to 11" and its lower,,,,progressive has a good shock

Have you tried a different seat? The original is pretty wide at the nose, so that might do the trick. We lowered my 5'4 wife's 2010 SG 1" front (HD kit) and 1" rear (blocks) and changed to a Corbin Close Solo seat. She went from tiptoes to nearly flat-footed, and really likes the bike. If you lower the rear, be sure to check the shock air pressure before EVERY ride.

I believe the shortest Progressive makes is an 11.5". You might be better off lowering the front 1" instead of lowering the rear and sacrificing clearance and shorter shock travel.

I would change the seat before I would lower it anymore than it already is. The reach seat might work for you or one of the many others available that will lower you and not the bike

Go sit on a 2011 SG, and then buy that seat, sets you much lower to the ground, and is only $179.00 from your local dealer. And way more comfortable.

Think I'll have to try that myself. i noticed the same thing (hard to put heels flat) when i picked up my 10 SG on Sat.. what's the passenger section of the 11 SG seat like?

I'm 5'7 on a 2010 SG, changed seat to a Sundowner (the Reduced Reach Seat made me feel to cramped forward) and lowered the front an inch. I can reach the ground "flat footed" with boots on; but if I wear sneakers it tough.
