Several years ago I had to have a c-section on my 5th disc because the nerve was pinched . Had surgery and was ok . Now I am having the same problem where I have shooting nerves in my legs and they want to go to sleep , Question ? Is it possible for the c-section operation to have closed up on that nerve ?

Hi Sawyer,
Welcome to the board:wave:
Sorry you are having so much pain. Can you give us some details about your situation? Did you have a laminectomy or microdisectomy? A c-section is when a woman delivers a baby through an incision in her abdomen. It's possible that you have re-herniated the same disc or a different one. Is the pain the same as before? Pain "shooting" down your leg is usually nerve related and an indication of some sort of spinal issue. It might be a good idea to get an appt with the spinal surgeon who did your previous surgery and let him check you over. Good luck and keep us posted.

I do not understand the terminology of a "C-section" in regarRAB to the spine. Can you enlighten me on this more please. I am like deb, in that the only time I've ever heard of that is in reference to childbirth. Which I have had a C-Section for the birth of one of my children.

You have either reherniated at that level, another level is at issue, etc. But the nerve is being irritated in some way to be giving you that pain you are having in your legs.

I would see your surgeon and see what is going on back there.
