Hi All
I have just found out that I have broad based disc protrusion at L5/S1 and L4 with an annular tear at the posterocentral disc margin seen as hig as T2. Also finding some Spondylistis. I have had mild to severe back pain for approx 20 years with the frequency increasing recently. Approx 1 to 2 times per month I feel like my back is slipping out of place and causing quite severe lower back pain. I have never visited a doctor before with this pain so have never had any sort of diagnoses but decided that it was time to get it checked. My doctor has said all I need is rest and do not need to be refered to a specailist at this stage.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, I am sick of my back feeling like it is slipping out of place but dont know if it is something that is just part of aging or something more that should be followed up with a specialist.

Thanks
Melanie

Hi there melanie. I'm pretty new with a pain management dr myself. Just started a month ago. My suggestion is to follow the drs suggestion, n it kinda sounRAB like you don't feel it'll just mysteriously go away. Be patient n call ur dr back ina week. Tell them its the same. Or better. Or worse. Just be honest. That's the best I can tell you to do. Hopefully that helps you some. The best to you. Marla.

Thanks Marla
I hope all goes well for you as well.
I will wait until next week and visit my GP again.
