I am 7 weeks into basic training with the army, i had my first day of on sunday where i did not do any exercise at all.

By sunday afternoon i was unable to stand straight and had awful pain in my lower back, the pain is still there if anything doesnt seem to be easing off at all, even ddo i have been given pain killers and inflamatories by a doctor.

Please can you help me understand what may be the cause as my career depenRAB on it.

Get an MRI - it is really helpful in finding out the source of back pain. Sometimes doctors want to wait until a course of "conservative care" is unsuccessful, but that doesn't help you find out what is wrong. Sometimes if you have pain going down the leg they are more likely to let you get an MRI.

I hope this helps - when you find out more information let us know.

Best of luck to you.

Absolutely you need to get an MRI. As a Firefighter i had back pain for a long time. My back would always kill my when i wore my fire boots. Something with the heel and arch made my back kill. Turns out my back pain was the result of many years of abuse and lack of core strength. As i strenghtend my core my back got better. I used the P90X system to help with that. Good luck to you and thank you for serving our country!
