low blood pressure

Are there any serious health issues associated with low blood pressure? I have been retired for approx. 4 years now and during my working years was on Bp meds. for high blood pressure (high pressure job and being a type A person). I have recently noticed that my bp is staying really low. I am still taking some bp meds. but have been able to cut out one alltogether. My ekg's show eschemia of LV which is reversable, otherwise basically normal. It occured to me that perhaps there could be a medical reason for a sudden change from high to a low pressure. Your opinion please.

Do you feel fine otherwise? I had low BP when I was diagnosed hypothyroid. I also was tired alot, my hair was coming out way more, memory problems, etc. Maybe your job caused your high BP and since you are now retired, and less stressed, your BP has gone back to what it should have been and your meds are causing it to be low?

I am on levothyroxin for thyroid. It is well controlled. I know that my body responds to stress with increased bp. It has been really low( 85/62, 86/58 etc ) It is generally around 110/70 rage, but has just recently began to go much lower. I was on four bp meds, just recently I have weaned myself off one pill altogether and 1/2 of another, bp's are still low. I prefer low than high, just wondered if it would cause some kind of damage if it continues low. Other than occasional dizziness on standing, I am A OK.

I do not know how low it can be before a person needs to be concerned. I had low BP for years and my thyroid has been level for years. One time my BP was also down to 80/60 and I was worried. The nurse didn't think much of it, or the doc either, but I was lol! She said that is normal for some people. I had gone to the doc for my back, and was feeling fine otherwise. Mine shoots up higher now, as I am under more stress, I wish I had lower blood pressure again, when I look back, I had way less stress and way less health problems. Now it is up and down alot, probably because of the stress of dealing with my back. You could try typing it into a search engine to find out the range that is considered normal.

A2749: I have low BP too. I'd rather it be low than high honestly. The only thing the doctor recommended for me was to add more salt to my diet. And so what does that do? Makes you retain fluid!!! Can't win!
