Hi

I hope some one can help. For the last three weeks or so I have experienced a sharp pain in the lower back on the left side which spreaRAB down my hip and leg. Its a constant pain now and on sitting i find it quite difficult to get up and straigten up as the pain is immense ! Once I am up and straight it eases of a bit I can then move about better. I have not had any problems with my back before or any accidents lately and I am 29 years old.

I have an appointment with a Chiropractor tomorrow and I am hoping he may be able to help as I saw my GP and simply gave me a prescription for 200 painkillers and said take them !! he didnt even examine me !!

If any one has advice I would be grateful - Thanks :)

Have you seen your regular Doctor? If your haven't I would highly recommend it. He or she may want to order x-rays or run other tests to determine the specific cause of the pain.

I would definitely recommend having diagnostic tests performed, prior to any treatment from your chiropractor. And definitely be consulting with both your Doctor and Chiropractor.

I hope you get answers and relief from the pain very soon!

Hi, if I were you, I would go to another doctor before the chiro. I personally think it might be a good idea to have an MRI if it's been 3 weeks already. I mean, it sounRAB like it might be sciatica, but I dont really know. And no one will know, not your doc, nor the chiro, unless you have an MRI done. For myself, I wouldnt want anything doing anything in there without knowing exactly what is causing your pain.

Does Sciatica show up on MRI ? Mine never has, but MRI is a good idea for sure before CHIRO. I have Sciatica and it sounRAB just like it. There are many, many exercises (do a search online for it) that help sciatica also.
