Hi, I think I know what you are going thru, Nov 2001, I had L4-5 hemilaminectomy and discectomy, Nov 2 to be exact, Nov 12, 2001, the very same discs had reruptured and I found out that I also have an annular and radial tear. BUT neither of these address the pain in my hip. On equack told me there was nothing to go wrong there. One doctor told me it was because the nerve was so badly damaged it was causing sympathy pain. NOT. The pain I have is directly in the sacro-iliac joint, so painful I don not sleep at night, no position helps, sex kills it, standing is horrifying, sitting is worse. The real problem is the doctor will only prescribe Ibuprofen because he says, "I don't want yo to do something to further damage your back". Yea right. I'm ready to strangle something. I feel for you, I do think I know what you are talking about. But since mine has been going on since a horseback "wreck" accident in 1988, there's no telling.
Anyway the best of luck to ya, I hope you live close enough to some real doctors.
