LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Lovefilm are actually spamming me now with 3 months for the price of 1 emails.

They have sent me the same email 7 times now.

Useless company seems obssessed with enticing customers but has no idea on how to keep them.

I predicted that most of the people who signed up for the 3 months for the price of one would be cancelling roughly about now so I cancelled 2 weeks before it expired.

I would expect a mass exodus at LF about now as the 3 for 1 offer is drawing to a close.

I wouldn't phone them to cancel that is totally inconvenient as it would cost me a phone call and I hate leaving messages on answer phones. Cancel via email that's the best way to cancel and don't forget to empty out your list incase they try to sneak you another title just before payment date.

Who's the 700th poster?

I must say that Love Film have been very good for me I have always got a film back from them 2 days after posting which means they must turn around the DVRAB the same day.

Perhaps I am just lucky but we have recomended them to people and are perfectly happy. I have been with them via CDWow now for 2 years much cheaper and easier than the local rental store.

I wish I'd seen this thread a month ago!

I joined Lovefilm over a year ago. I was happy with the service for a time and then I realised I was never getting any films from the top of my list and I was never getting 3 films at once so I cancelled.

Recently I got a 3 months for 1 offer so I thought I'd go back. I rejoined on the 31st of July and to date I've had 7 DVD's sent to me even though I have about 40 on my list.

The first 3 I got included Harry Potter. The film jumped a good few times and skipped scenes. When I returned it I ticked the box that said faulty disc. I didn't tick replacement required. The next set of films I got had Harry Potter again. I put it down to the fact that I'd said the disc was faulty and thought nothing of it.

The following week I sent back Spiderman 2 which was fine. The day after the films were returned I checked my rental queue and Spiderman 2 was being resent to me. There was nothing wrong with the film and I certainly didn't check that I wanted a new disk. I phoned up customer services and they told me that I'd requested a new disk. Now that is one thing I hate, people telling me I done something and speaking to me as if I'm a liar.

On Tuesday I posted the last 3 disks, from work and I double checked the envelopes before I sent them. As of today (Friday) there is still no notification on the website of them receiving them and they can do nothing about it until 5 days have passed. Phoning customer services again they told me it might have been "a sticky fingered postman". I was incredulous that they could honestly say that this is the fault of the Royal Mail. Not with all 3 dvd's going missing.

At least by reading this thread I know I'm not in the wrong and I'm not going to be accused of stealing 3 disks. I don't even think I'm going to wait out my free re-trial. I really liked Lovefilms website and selection but the service is too appalling and I won't be spending my money with them in future.

have belonged to SS and now LF and have noticed the change in speed of posting out DVRAB. I recd only one of two discs for Schindlers list, complained and returned on Wednesday. They acknowledged complaint although not said what they are going to do about it and have not yet sent a new film out. have emailed them back asking for a response to my second email of yesterday asking what they are doing about Schindler's list...still nothing.

I am firm supporter of my local store.

A1 customer services, 2 DVRAB replaced for 1 if you get a faulty disc, free disc next time if a top 10 title is not in stock.

Pay for the film you want when you want it, and pick a film to suit your mood and viewing pleasure not what is kicking around the stock rooms of these fly by night on line rental services.

No binding monthly fee, which is not good value if you only watch one now and again and take into account being away from home etc and still getting charged if you don't get round to watching that certain title.

Shop local, for local people :)

Does anyone else think that this award Lovefilm have won is more to do with quantity than quality. If you read about it on their site, it talks about how they are the first online UK rental company to break 100k subscribers. I also read on their site that at the end of last year they had only 50k so they have doubled in numbers in 6 months! (3 for 1 offers anyone?)

I can just imagine their board meeting in Dec 04. Forget the quality of the service guys, lets go all out to break 100k members by summer and win an award.

Whats not clear of course is whether the 100k is the number of people who have joined them since day one or the number in total at a certain time. It would be nice to get some sort of background into what criteria the award was based on. ;)

I recently cancelled with Love Film due to the service getting worse over the last 3-4 months . It was taking about 2 days before they actually sent another dvd out so in all about 4 days to get another dvd. This was despite them getting the dvRAB back the next day. I made sure to send the last dvd back by recorded delivery after reading all these posts , and guess what it arrived next day and was received on their website by 10.45am . I may go back to Cinema Paradiso as they were quite good , it was only Love Film had more choice that i changed .

If you're only getting 20 films in 3 months you may as well have signed up with Amazon! At least they are very good at sending out new releases.

I really can't believe it, not visited this thread in a while and so many people still complaining about LoveFilm but yet still remain using their dire service?

WHY ???

Why are so many still throwing their hard earned cash down the drain by continuing to fund this companies directors high roller lifestyle? Vote with your feet for goodness sake, dont just stay there and take it in the good old British stiff upper lip fashion.

I and many others left LoveFilm a month ago after both reading this thread and suffering such bad service - And guess what? We're all having a great time! Why? Because we took our custom elswhere and now have DVD's to watch, yes the DVD's you guys are paying for at LoveFilm but dont actually get sent. If you want to continue giving money away then I'll post my Paypal address and you can send your

Yes, same here. I have complained via email several times, and gotten a "so sorry" reply form mail. I spoke with them today, and the guy said they did not have any plans to improve the service... He didn't care that I would switch off... So, another good service bites the dust: Scr*w the customer if your profits aren't high enough - What a great concept!

I am switching to ScreenSelect as they claim to be better, and I used the Promotion Code DVD21 to get a extra free rental.

Anyone else have experience with ScreenSelect for over more than 6 months?

I think it was always a Lovefilm powered service, it was just a repackaged and rebranded version for Tesco. That's the problem with outsourcing to another company, they mess up every so often and the company whose branding is on the website gets the blame. So instead of hiding their link to Lovefilm, they are obviously annoyed and passing on the blame.

300TH POST!

Has anyone tried reversing their list and putting movies they want to see at the bottom and vice versa?

I have noticed that when I was last with BB they gave me all my bottom listed movies. It was too much of a coincidence that this happened on the last week.
