LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

That's how it used to be with be, I'd manage 6 - 9 discs per week with Tesco (Screen Select, before Love Film takeover), but then did start to get worse even with well over 100 titles in my list.

Now with Blockbuster and the service is excellent, though the website ain't great.

The Amazon deal is a very poor deal to me, I'm happy paying Blockbuster

I once saw a really good blog comparing the Netflix service.

Basically the guy paid for 2 accounts.

One he constantly used and used and used, the other barely touched.

You won't be suprised to hear that the one he barely used he got top choices, straight away. The "used one" always reported huge delays for the same titles he was getting straight away from his other account.

He did some work, digging and was one of the first people to identify NetFlix's throttling policy.

Let's face it - there isn't a decent rental company out there.

Why not try this: get a few pals, say 5 or 6 DVD nuts. Each join a separate rental service. Remove duplicates from your lists as soon as they're sent. Swap DVRAB amongst you. As they're all out to impress for the first month or three, you'll probably get the titles you're after. In this time, each of you recommenRAB the site to one of the others in your group. Then, by careful staggering and switching of subscriptions and cancellations (and

For the first time since the service started to go to pot, they are showing as having received my discs the day after i posted them, however like others have noticed they are not sending the next titles out to compensate for this.

I think the number of complaints they must have been getting about the time it was taking to seemingly get discs back has forced them to be more honest about the situation ie show discs as back when they genuinely get back but take a day or two to dispatch ther next lot. However the end result is the same namely their service is much slower than it was and they are going to have to improve or people will leave in droves.

You could have had less the week before couldn't you.

Your overall quota would then be less than the throttling total so they would make you a priority customer.

Can't see the business strategy of sending one customer 6 a week continuously and neglecting many others.

DvRAB365 took over Qflicks who owed me money so my gripe became with 365. Despite 3 or 4 emails chasing up a reponse and the involvement of Trading StandarRAB on my behalf they continued to ignore us both.

365 are a disgrace and not an organisation i have any respect for whatsoever.

Lets face it guys. If the Royal Mail were to blame for this 4-5 day timescale for them receiving discs back, Lovefilm would be up in arms at the RM and demanding to know what is causing the delays (which were not there before!) as they know it is annoying many of their customers from the amount of complaints we are making. The fact that they send automated replies saying this is just the way it is clearly suggests that RM are nothing more than just a convenient excuse they use.

Stats show that the Royal Mail deliver 85% of first class post next working day. In any given town or city in the UK, you may occassionally experience having to wait 2-4 days but NOT every single time, the law of averages would cover that. The fact that Lovefilm claim it is taking 3-5 days with many people EVERY time does not stand up.

They are taking us for fools im afraid.

Their output is still rubbish. I have gone from 6 DVRAB per week to 3. Well they have so far only sent out one DVD from my rental queue of 160 DVRAB.

For the money I pay a month their service is still appalling.

Throttling customers will only see their regulars disappear elsewhere. I feel sorry for the Webflix customers that have just joined.

I will be leaving LF anyway, even if they start to give me the kind of service I should have got in the first place, it is too late. I have totally lost faith in them and will not be back, well maybe if they offered me a 5 months for the price of 1 and twisted my arm I might be slightly tempted.

I already joined Blockbusters and they are so much more better and reliable.

My nearest rental shop closed down a year or so ago. People posted on the local community web site that they weren't surprised as every time they went in there the place stank of weed. So probably not the customers' fault.

The next nearest (15 minutes walk) is a high street Blockbuster. It started out massive, then sold off half the premises to a hairdressers (!) and dramatically reduced the range. Nowadays they stock a very limited selection and if you don't want the latest titles you may as well not bother. Not much fun for the real film enthusiast either - and probably not the customers fault' either.

Sadly, I doubt DVD rental stores make enough to pay the rent. Especially if the staff are spending the profits on drugs.

Netizen if you had the original offer email of 3 months for the price of 1 and they charged you in consecutive months, I'd say that it was clearly an error in their part, unless you signed up through the site and not the email with the code.

Lovefilm for me, do not dispatch 75% of my DVRAB in 2 days, I have a full record of all the dates received and the percentage is more like 20%. I have been up and down the route to my post box like a yoyo trying to make sure they get them back fast.

The thing is if I don't return them quick, that will make my weekly average of 3 even less.
