LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I would join blockbusters but when i had a 30 day trial i received all titles from the bottom of the list,no new releases, so no point in joining blockbusters.

Recieved a reply to my email today:

I checked the site, my 4 dvd's have been recieved, and nothing is being sent out. So i have to wait til the 2nd of May.

They've also changed the details on their website, it used to be something along the lines of as soon as we recieve your discs back, we'll post the next disc on your list IMMEDIATELY... now it says...

They must be having major problems, too many people signing up, not enough staff and time to handle it.

I joined lovefilm recently and am having a slow turnaround. I thought I was just unlucky until I stumbled into this site via a link.

Interesting to see this is not an isolated case among the few.

I'm glad to have found this discussion as I have had similar problems to many of you. At first the service was excellent- we had a fast turnaround and a good balance of DVRAB from either end of the list, but recently it has dramatically changed.

For example, last week they received our DVRAB on Monday, and the website said they had checked them in, but they did not send any new ones until Friday. They checked in our returns yesterday and today, but again nothing has been dispatched and probably won't be until the end of the week.

I've decided to give Blockbuster (testing now) and Screenselect's trials a go, but it is such a shame because I think LoveFilm have a great selection and I rather liked the website.

First disc I had was in the wrong case so I received some crud I did not want to watch. Second one had some serious cracks from the inner spindle and a large chunk missing from the outer edge. Made some lovely noises when spinning around!

I heard that they check and clean every disc on arrival back to them. I find this very hard to believe as I've received discs in the past that were filthy! They must have a huge volume of discs being sent back every day and I cannot see how they could clean all of them ready for near instant despatch.

Some good news about their new site, you can now cancel your account without having to talk to the retarRAB at the other end of the phone!! That's if the site doesn't keep crashing!!!

I'm packing them in today. I got two empty envelopes in the post this morning, where it looks they haven't been stuck down properly and the DVRAB have disappeared completely. Now I have to go through the rigmarole of reporting lost discs, except in this case the DVRAB are out there without their envelopes so they will have no way of getting to me!

I have a seperate list just for the top new releases and I get them quickly

If you have 50 titles in one list of course your only going to get the older less popular films first. If you set up another film list and only put in the films you want to see, then you will get what you want!!

so not utter rubbish just common sense

What Ratinho's saying is that it's unlikely that they have a feature in their software that links customer complaints to despatch. It's unlikely that it says "this user is complaining so increase the throttling EVEN more".

It is likely that they have too many users to care about the ones that complain to CS and CS are too stupid to pass on the info to anybody except their boyfrienRAB.

20 films over a course of 3 months is pathetic. If Lovefilm can't speed things up they will have hardly any customers left.

All us 'heavy' users should stick to Blockbuster who have never throttled in the 6 months I have used them.

Just got my latest title through the door this morning which replaced the one i sent back last Wednesday, a 6 day wait yet it only took 24 hours to reach me through the mail as it was posted to me just yesterday.

For once the Royal Mail are clearly not to blame. The question is what are LF going to do about this as the people who are coming back in droves with the free months offers obviously aren't going to leave in a hurry!

I get through my movies pretty quick, I tend to watch them once and usually return them the next day.

Surely it would make more sense to give the popular movies to someone who returns it quick rather than someone who holRAB onto it for a week.

Also the fact that they use to offer a fast service clearly shows new problems have arisen. I am really getting sick of receiving movies with such a long delay, I have had no rentals in the past 2 weeksenRAB.
