LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I have to say, I've not had many problems so far with lovefilm and I've been with them when they were video island. THey did have a spell where I think they had slow deliveries because of a warehouse fire but all in all, pretty good going so far. I suppose I've been lucky.

If you're not happy with lovefilm, try amazon, they are very good, very quick but there is an ultimate limit to how many you can have a month. Excellent service though. Tesco also very good, i think they were powered by lovefilm though or videoisland

Got my 4 dvRAB in the post aswell today. Thats wierd i now have 5 dvRAB at home as i have'nt posted back my bonus dvd from christmas yet

Looks like im getting a better service then some!

love film are losing the plot
they used to send films out the same day that they received the old ones back

that is no longer the case
you send 3 films back wed
they get them on thursday
they send one film out on thursday
hold back and send 2 out on friday

add to that no post on sunday
and saturday last collection is often 11 am
( 3 years ago there was a last collection at 5 pm on saturday )
so things are very restricted now

the UK post is worse than 3 years ago add to that love film are deliberately delaying sending out discs that you ve got quequed up

so I ve lost it with Love Film, sorry guys...........

There are a lot of problems with Blockbuster such as the poor allocation of new titles but they have proven to be the best so far. Turnaround is fast. They used to operate on a Saturday but have since stopped which has reduced the turnaround.

Another good one to consider is MovieStream but their library is incredibly small.

Screenselect is okay for the first 2 weeks but they too become very slow.

The 3 mentioned above are the only ones I would most likely use more than once.

Exactly, why would an employee risk their job over something like cancelling a customers account & then receiving a threatening phone call from said customer, by passing on details to a 3rd party?????

I will send my last rentals back with a certificate of post as they are free. Would not be surprised if they charged me another months worth.

I shall be emailing their CEO with my concerns, let's see how he wriggles out of it.

Incidently does anyone know how much they have to pay to send out 1 DVD? It is 29 pence for a first class stamp, I'm sure they have some sort of deal where they can get 41% reduction. That leaves it to be 17 pence per rental.

A total of 34 pence per DVD. I work out that 24 DVRAB a month is a reasonable quantity for someone on the 3 DVRAB a package. That equates to 24 x 0.34p =

I'm getting ticked off now too.

They've decided to start 'dispatching' all 3 DVD's at once, but either 1 turns up one day and then the other 2 the next, or vice versa.

And I now have to send back an "I'm Alan Partridge" DVD back because it won't work due to all the scratches on it. One of the DVRAB I was looking forward to sit down to and watch through at the weekend.

thodkin are you saying that you returned your films on 3 separate days and on each day they received the said film 4 working days later i.e.

Returned on Monday - They receive Friday
Returned on Tuesday - They receive Monday
Returned on Wednesday - They receive Tuesday

It does make sense that such a tactic is being used as it guarantees users get 3 films per week and cuts down on their postage costs and workload.

Still totally against their terms and conditions and absolutely the wrong way to go to maintain customers.

thats exactly what i'm saying it really isn't worth the risk of it!! at the end of the day customer services are there to speak to the people who are moaning why would anyone really bother to ring up to say that they were really happy with a service if there wasn't a but, waste of a phone bill. but cs get the 100 customers a day out of 100,000 who aren't happy!!!

Just out of interest, what sort of defence did Lovefilm put up?

I would've thought it would be quite easy for Lovefilm to find many reasons why one customer didn't receive DVD's as promptly as another. Making it very difficult for a court to rule in favour of the Plaintiff.

Have you taken your story to the press? I would've thought that this is very important information and would benefit the general public in making a decision as to whether or not they join Lovefilm or not.

Vanessa Purkiss, I guess she's a senior CS rep? They lied to me about ever having offered '3 months for the price of 1' as an incentive to come back to them, and were incorrectly billing me. It's all explained in a post a page or two back. When I pressed them on this issue, Vanessa (who I had not had contact with before) asked me to forward the original offer email to verify they did indeed make the offer to me and I should not be billed for this month. That was last Friday, I mailed her at lunchtime today and got a very quick response, hopefully everything will be sortet by Thursday.

The point is I had 2 different CS reps email me before, both telling me I was wrong without question. Overall the whole problem has been resolved in 1 week, so I guess it's really not that bad. I was expecting worse!

The majority of the people involved in this thread think Lovefilm are pathetic and indefensible.

They have admitted that they throttle the service, though they chose to lie about this for months and even went as far as to blame royal mail. Would be nice if Lovefilm actually told us the exact total we can expect before they took our money.

I have to walk quite a distance to my local post box so when Lovefilm fail to send me a title the day they receive one back after I have gone to all the trouble of giving them their dvd back early it leaves me pretty p*ssed off.

As it stanRAB Amazon are the only online rental company who admit they will dispatch a limited amount per month.

I have been with LOVEFILM now for just over a month and think the service is good. I have phoned them up and it took me just over a minute to get through to them and i was spoken to by an english person, who helped me tremedously.

I had to report a disc as lost, and they sorted it out immedietly and sent me another disc straight away. (they later has message on there site saying they were having problems with their sorting office but they have fixed it now)

I'm on a special deal pay for one month and get two months free. I get everything I ask for!!

I take back what I said about Blockbuster Throttling, they were just having a bad couple of days last week, can you believe they actually e-mailed me personally to let me know that they were having delays and apologised for the slight lapse in my DVD allocation and delivery. LOVEFILM SUCKS, Blockbuster ROCKS !

My experience is different to that of some of you. I've been with the company, formerly ScreenSelect, since March this year, and DVRAB have been returned soon after I sent them. Famous last worRAB, I know, but I can't complain at the mo.

I sent three films back in one envelope on Wednesday afternoon this week, and three fresh discs arrived yesterday morning (Friday).
