LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Various forums (SIGames, DD, IMDB, like I said various) saying similar things. People complaining about slow turnaround, lack of customer service, etc.

Same complaints I hear from individuals all the time about the various sites that do these.

Lovefilm have changed the way they log the films received on my account, they state "returned", instead of the old "returned on 26 April".

I did an experiment with sending disks back on different days. It appears that once they log in a DVD, the default is for them to show up on your account exactly 4 days later (each time) - just some clever programming, the dvd's are back in their system ready to despatch to other customers, but they make it appear that they are still at royal mail somewhere.

Does this mean they can reduce the number of titles they buy (have in stock) by half and save 50% on postage?

Yep, i'm sure they are actively treating me different to other people. My only point through this is that you should make up your own mind on the subject by trying them (not you, people in general in the thread), as that's what I did. Blockbuster and LoveFilm were the best of 3 or 4 I tried. LoveFilm got my films from the top of my list, with the fastest turnover, so although Blockbuster and LoveFilm were both good, I stuck with LoveFilm.

My bro uses Blockbuster and hasn't had any probs either.

Well, I got this reply back from a furious e-mail to them today...

But what I want to know is, how can receiving 3 dvRAB in 2 weeks be considered renting high numbers of disks?
I froze my account while on holiday, and have been back for 6 weeks now.
In that time I have received 9 disks!

If this is an unlimited service, then I really don't want to see what they do when they limit it...

True, I don't get the latest titles anyway so in order for me to be a preferred customer, I should wait until they send me a DVD from my list.

They will probably send me a DVD from the bottom of my list, one of the titles I wasn't really looking forward to watching but had to add onto my list to increase my chances of actually getting a rental.

Then hold onto it for several weeks. Return it back to them and get another bottom of the barrel movie, doesn't really work does it?

WeatherfieldWil email the CEO and Chairman! :D

I think Lovefilm are in the wrong, we have paid for an unlimited rental service and that is what we should get, it's not made clear in the advertising/terms and conditions that Lovefilm give priority to low users, hence we have been enticed to sign up on false pretences and are not experiencing the level of service we are paying for.

I'm a computing student, I nearly always have either a dvd, music or the television on in the background.

Not that I care about this now, I've cancelled and I'm enjoying a great service from Blockbuster, with a great turnaround.

Here's an interesting one - sent two films back last Monday, and received one on Thursday. Nothing since and BH will slow it further, and there is still only two movies on my rented list - so a third hasn't even been dispatched yet! Useless...

I canceled my Love Film Subscription way back in January, my bedit card was out of date and for the shite service, I decied to quit rather than update my details.

I have not recieved a single thing from them since January. Today I recieved a letter from a debt collector DEMANDING

Over ten minutes to cancel LoveFilm this morning! What poor service. I also have to go to the Post Office and get a receipt of postage too for some reason.

I am not pleased as the queues in the post office are always too long!

Oh, that really sucks! I would expect a proper service to send you (if you are on 3 disc package) a fourth concurrent disc, just that once, with the correct title.

I used Lovefilm and found them very slow, plus i get the aforementioned 'your film is on it's way' email a few days after i had returned each DVD.....I'm off to Blockbusters, many thanks for the recommendations.

Another thing that doesn't really fill me with confidence with LoveFilm is when your disc is picked by people called things like "Phat N"

The service that Blockbuster are offering at the moment has dipped really badly, i have 24 films on my list and i am waiting on average about 3/4 days for a replacement film to be selected. Up until the last month, you could almost guarantee that a replacement film would be selected and posted on the same day. Its not just Love Film, anybody recommend an alternative.
