LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Jaime, the problem doesnt lie in the returns department or their system for returns.

The problem lies with the fact that Love Film are misleading people with the fact that they can have an "unlimited service" yet sees fit to "throttle" subscribers as discussed above, to me it seems like false advertising as on one hand they say "unlimited" rental service, yet on the other they make up the fact they havent got your DVD. Dont forget, if you are a heavy user, you are affecting the company's profitability as the more you rent, the least profitable you become, they want to get rid of the heavy users.

Dont bother e-mailing the muppets at customer service, e-mail Mark Livingston the CEO like I am about to do, perhaps he might actually listen to us and give us an answer, unlike the customer service people.

Signed up yesterday morning despite this advice. They have still not allocated me any films from my list. If they have not done so by the end of today this will probably be the fastest free trial ever.

Will try Blockbuster.

As I said, I wish I was getting 6 a week. I'd shut up, I'd have no reason to complain imo.

I had 6 for the first two weeks, since, I've been getting 3 or 4. And have done for the last 6 weeks - assuming i do get 3 tomorrow.

Beware this company. It is positively fraudulent. After having received nothing for a week, I cancelled 26 Oct and received email confirmation. THEY re-activated my account on 3 November and took another months' money. After hours on the phone I have managed to get them to acknowledge the cancellation but do not expect to see my money again. I would not put it past them to re-activate the account again next month to take more money. There is a name for this kind of behaviour - theft - and last time I looked it was against the law. By the way I'm now with Blockbuster, not on a free trial as I took the 1 disc package and so far so good.

So basically Lovefilm offer different levels of service for different customers.

I won't be giving them 7 months to prove themselves. Be glad to leave them seeing as they don't treat all their customers the same.

Jamie's right.

The bastarRAB decided to only sent one of the 3 rentals due to me friday. It's not turned up to day.

It's not the effing post, LoveFilm have chose not to send it out.

They lied about an "unlimited" service.

How can a service be unlimited when they clearly don't despatch the disks when they say they have.

It won't stop me getting all my frienRAB to sign up for a free trial though.

Bleed the bastarRAB dry.

Hello All,

I only found this forum yesterday after searching around to find if anyone else has had problems with Lovefilm. I googled 'Lovefilm sucks' and 'Lovefilm rubbish' to find loaRAB of annoyed people.
To be honest Im a bit relieved that Im not the only one feeling cheated by them. The ammount of annoyed email Ive sent and they just send the standard (maybe automated) reply that alot of you also seem to have got.
This is the message I sent yesterday:
"
This service is a sham.
This service is a sham.

THis is the third time in 3 weeks I have had to complain about no discs being sent. You received all my last discs on MOnday but you havent sent anything out for 3 days. You have been doing this every week.
You people are scamming me. You offered me a deal to return to your service. THe deal was to pay for 1 month and get 2 months free, but you are not providing me with a full service once the 1st month is finished.
This is outrageous.

I am going to post critical messages about this service on every messageboard and consumer forum that may be anyway connected to online dvd rentals. If this service doesnt improve I will then setup a webpage and name it such that it will always return as a hit whenever anyone enters Lovefilm in google.
"
But I guess my threat wont bother them much as it seems that theres enough critical discussion going on already. Ive used every company over the last 7 months both free trials and staying on for a month after. They all slacked their service after the free trial except for dvRAB365 who's only negative was their crap packaging that often arrived split (cos of the Royal Mail sorting machines) and that they had alot of poor condition discs, mind you everytime you have a problem witha disc and report it they will send you out another disc straight away. But they implemented a limit of sorts(or maybe had all along) that if you rent more that 20 in a month they will bill you from the 21st - so you basically get billed every 3 weeks instead of once a month.
Blockbuster were a letdown because as soon as you become a paid member they dont send you your top priority discs, probably cos theyve already got your money they dont need to impress you as on a free trial.

Anyway you all probably know most of what Ive got to say anyway.
Now that Ive registered here I look forward to discussing this stuff further.

I joined LoveFilm after my sister gave me a 3 month free subscription. I've never had any problems (touch wood!) I went to cancel 2 months ago & they offered me 3 months for

I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get them to remove my personal details, including my credit card details from their database ever since I cancelled my account on the 26th October. It'll be interesting to see whether they'll re-activate my account too.

It's a fair point, although that would tend to mean they would censor unfavourable reviews which is not generally the case. As a Screenselect customer the drop in service experienced has been like falling off a cliff. They have now restored the online cancellation, although they try to keep you with promises of 7 days free service etc etc. 7 days free service - that's a joke, from my experience you would not receive any DVRAB in that period anyway.

Will report back on my experiences with Blockbuster.

I'm in the same position, moving from lovefilm to screenselect is like moving from a rolls royce to a fiesta! In the 'new releases' section on screen select you'll notice how it is out of date by at least 2 weeks! Whenever I'm looking for a new release to add to my list I find myself going back to lovefilm to find the list of new releases.

Don't work for ...own & have for the last 10 years.Quite frankly reading a lot of the posts regarding on line renting makes me laugh..you people actually believe you get something for next to nothing!!!How short sighted are you people.I own a very good DVD store that stocks a proper library of titles ..but did I get them free of charge...NO,but I do not 'rip off' my customers, nor do i make them wait 72 HRS to watch their films either. As for those who say you have no local store well it could be because you were to cheap to use one when there was one there...get it??it won't be 2 miles it will be 15 - 20 & when these on line renters start going tits up where will that leave you??
As for those of you who complain you have a 'DVD Superstore' staffed by Mc D rejects it could be that 5 years ago you all abandoned the local film enthusist who owned his store & whored yourselves to BB,Choces ect..so serves you right!!!
