LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

If I owned a store, I'd be worried about the future, as soon we will download our movies with broadband, and watch them at our leisure. This will cut out all the middlemen!

I agree Blockbuster at

Well, I re-signed onto ScreenSelect, and...

Boy, their website is a lot slower and more poorly organised than LoveFilm.

However, a great website and an unfair and misleading delivery policy still equals terrible value for money.

Just had the following from love film:

"Top 10 facts about LOVEFiLMWe're big. LOVEFiLM is the largest online DVD rental service in the UK.
We've got lots. We have over 120,000 members and carry over 32,000 titles - that's almost every DVD available in the UK.
Our members rate us. We have over 7 million DVD member reviews and ratings.
We're sophisticated. Our recommendation engine technology is most sophisticated of its kind in the world.
We're exclusive. As well as providing the DVRAB you want, when you want them, we offer our members exclusive preview screenings, exclusive interviews and exclusive competition prizes.
We've won. We won the prestigious British Video Association

and over loading the system with 3 for 1 subscribers in order to punt for new business will just cause existing subscribers to cancel!!! doh

How many members have been with them for over a year?

I'm guessing the number of users who have been with them over a year does not reflect the majority of their customer base.

They should include all members they have had register for any period of time. I bet some of the users who joined for one month and left will bring down his bogus percentages.

I am on the three month Lovefilm free trial at the moment after being with them in the past. Got gift card in early August inviting me for a three month free trial. i was then amazed to receive an E mail and a letter this week inviting me to come back to lovefilm at three months for the price of two!! But i am on a three month trial already!! Obviously one department do not talk to another!

and there are 2 other places where lovefilm have bad reviews - I have pmed you the links as I'm not sure if rabroad would allow me to post them here. I dont want to get into trouble.

ROFL!

Otherwise good service???

I've been getting 3 dvRAB every two weeks on an unlimited 3dvd package...

Im what universe could that possibly be considered reasonable servise?

For anyone trying to cancel Lovefilm and being fobbed off by systems down and other shocking tactics, here is what I have done, after two days of being told systems are down and they cannot process my cancellation by this pathetic excuse for a DVD rental company:

Send an e mail to [email protected] saying you are cancelling immediately and you do not authorise them to take any further money from your credit card account. It does not matter that they do not acknowledge it. Then if they do claim, you will be able to claim it back from your credit card company. My credit card company have guaranteed me they will claim the money back from me sahould Lovefilm not process the cancellation and continue debiting my card.

To the poster still getting a good service, I may be wrong but I would not shout too loudly just yet. I am shocked at the deterioration in my service and from what I have seen of the new processes you will be vewry lucky to stay sa happy as you are. If I'm wrong come back on here in a couple of months time and tell me so.

:D

Although I ended up getting bad service, and cancelled very quickly, I somehow doubt the people at the service end of this company know about your complaints, never mind actively sending less DVD's out to you as a result of it.

They have too many customers to think like that, you'll find.

Or he could choose LoveFilm tbh. Just as many people complaining about Blockbuster, etc on various forums. I've never had a problem with LoveFilm, ever, and my Bro uses Blockbuster and has never had a prob with them.

Well, it makes sense to me! They're just running scared at the moment. Trying to get as many new people as possible. Get them to sign up for 3 months in advance and BANG!! They've made some serious cash!

Please do! I honestly think they only have one of each DVD. It took them over 3 months to send me Super Size Me and 4 months for The Village!

I agree with Will, if you do ever get 'em, keep them for a while. Especially if you're on a 3 disc package. After all, they only every seem to send two discs anway!!

Yup, received one from them this morning after cancelling last week. There isn't a chance of me resubscribing - that would be a ridiculous move on my part after the shoddy service to myself and others over recent months.
