LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I am still running LF concurrently with Blockbusters and im actually now finding LFs speed is better than BBs. LF are receiving back next day and dispatching that day too but im finding BB are receiving back next day but they put 'processing order' in the afternoon and change it to sent in the evening when obviously the post has gone so really that is a delay of a day as it wont get posted untill the day after whcich is a little sneaky.

LF also assured me a couple of months ago they were working on their envelope problems but there is no evidence of that.

I used to be with a great DVD rental firm (Moviechoices) until it was swallowed up by Lovefilm in January. The bad service from Lovefilm got worse this week when they had received my 3 DVD's back but hadn't sent any out despite over 40 on my list.

Phoned up to be told that they have a 'Fair Play' policy which kicks in when things are busy. Asked to speak to a manager who confirmed that they restrict the number of titles sent out when they are busy. Said this was on their T&C's (Item 9) which says... 'Lovefilm will not be responsible for any delays etc.' - nothing about any 'Fair Play' policy there!

Have cancelled with them and gone to Blockbuster. Have also emailed BBC Watchdog with all of the info - hope they can do a piece on it.

Also wonder what the Advertising StandarRAB Authority thinks of their 'unlimited DVD's' advert if they put restrictions on how many they let you have. - Anyone got any ideas?

I don't think Blockbusters operate on Saturday any more.

When I used them before I used to get Saturday dispatched but have noticed that this is no longer the case. :(

....y'sure y'want to? I think it's the same with all 'heavy users' that they slow down the rate that they receive the discs back/send your discs to you.

I'm with lovefilm again on a 2 discs/3 months for the price of one deal and it ain't too bad but I suspect that when I really get into sending the discs back as soon as I watch 'em, they'll get fussy and slow down the rate of return/sending discs.

I'm also with Blockbuster for the five discs at a time deal right now and it varies from deliberately crap to occasionally surprisingly good rate of return/sending all in one month.

.....I'm rarely getting anything that's in the first 70 or so preferred discs of my 100+ discs list though at Blockbuster.

I have to agree with you there. 9 months into my agreement with LoveFilm and I'm happy too. I consider myself to be an average level renter (about 9 a month) and I get a decent mix of new releases and older stuff - about 50/50.

Blockbuster were fine for me Dvd365 were a bunch of incompetent buffoons in my experience. I'd say their customer service dept. is staffed by monkeys but that would be harsh on monkeys.......

I'll be keeping a close eye on what happens to me in the future: I joined via the 30-day free option a few weeks ago. Was so impressed with the service that I signed up for the "Unlimited - 3 at home at any given time" membership.

So far, I have put the returns in the post box one day, received an e-mail the next saying my next set of disks are on the way, and received the disks the day after.

This may, of course, be a ploy to get you used to using LoveFilm and then the service tapers-off after a while.

Watch this space...

Some people just watch a lot of DVRAB I guess, but I would imagine that most people who send their DVRAB back the same day use 'alternative' methoRAB for watching them quickly !

I bet a lot of people will claim they gave a good service when they quit because they don't want to leave on bad terms.

Their percentages of satisfied customers are not accurate, who knows how bias they are.

All the surveys they send me are usually directly linked to some sort of competition, are people going to say their service sucks when being entered into a free prize draw?

The CEO can stick his 'stats' where the sun don't sun.

I'm just so amazed that a fine company like this can slide so quick and so far in a relatively short space of time.

Well for me anyway, Lovefilm is dead option. It's between BB and SS now.

Phoned the number out of interest, the indian guy knew I wanted to cancel but strangely couldn't cancel my account as the "system was down" and "could you call tomorrow". Hmmmmm.

They should be reported for using that trick.

Who are their regulators?
