LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

LF say they're despatching 3 toady, including #1 on my list.

They'll arrive tomorrow, too late for me to get anymore this week.

That'll be 3. It's hardly "Unlimited" is it?

You constantly wound him up and the guy wasn't liking it. Bit harsh to report something like that. Also goes without saying the banning was harsh.

Lovefilm's cunning plans are about as cunning as a fox who has disguised itself as a chicken by sticking a rubber glove on it's head in order to have a free lunch. :)

I've been with LoveFilm (previously DVRABonTap) for over 2 years. Joined in January 2003 I think it was.

I have recommended serveral frienRAB in this time and all of us have experienced the problems mentioned in this forum.

* DVRAB taking several days to be scanned back in
* DVRAB from the bottom of your queue being sent
* Standard or no replies to emails
* NOW DVRAB being scanned in but none sent out.

Myself and frienRAB have all sent complaints but received the same replies as everyone else. At the moment I have received less than 6 DVRAB in the last 2 weeks.

Many of the movies at the top of my queue aren't new releases either, like Jaws & Gladiator they have been in the top 5 of my queue for over 3 months and still not received them.

For 2 years LoveFilm always received back my Films the day after posting and sent out films usually from my top 10 the same day but since Christmas things have got gradually worse.

Tonight I will be either freezing my account or cancelling it haven't decided which yet as the other services sound like they may have problems too.

It annoys me because I received such a good service for so long. Maybe its due to offering their services to other companies (Sainsburys, WHSmith, etc.) or the take over of other Rental companies. A true and honest reply from them would be nice!!

I would never sign up to Lovefilm for a year, I wouldn't even give them a month, their dishonest practices have put me off them for life. Blaming the postal service for their incompetance was the last straw.

that's defintely one for trading standarRAB to look into as it's one thing to give everyone an equal share by giving low users priority BUT to actually set a next depatch date a number of days into the future means there is a limit being imposed.

apart from that, it isnt a very effective way to ensure everyone gets a fair service - all it does is limit the amount of postage they are using and limits the theoretical number of disks you can get per month. prior to this the only limit was the speed of the postal service and their ability to check back in your titles a couple of days after they get them back!

if they want to give low users priority then I would have thought they would follow this method each morning:-

a)first create a list of users who have 1 more more empty slots - ie. users who dont have their full allocation rented.

b)sort your list of users into an order - the more titles you've had in the last 30 days (divided by your membership level) the lower you are in the queue. so at the top of this 'members' queue are the people who havent had many titles in the last 30 days.

c)read through your list top to bottom and allocate titles to the first (available) entry each member has in their personal queue - ie. if a member has "meet the fockers" as your first entry and 'white noise' as your second and 'meet fockers' is out of stock then allocate "white noise". This would ensure low volume users get priority and the highest available entry on their list.

d)repeat process c) until you run out of DVRAB to send out or your members all have disks allocated.

The problem with this method is that it doesnt cut down on postage because unless a member has a small queue, they are likely to get instant turnaround. The only members likely to suffer from 'throttling' in this method are those with small queues especially small queues with popular titles and new releases.

what you have at the moment is 'unlimited' time to hold onto a disk but limited amount of DVRAB per month. Therefore to advertise it as 'unlimited' is probably false unless you qualify it by saying 'unlimited rental time with your DVD'.

The "problem" with sending it recorded delivery is that they will have to sign for it, therefore if they are clever enough they will make sure the discs go through the system straight away. Of course, while this doesn't prove our fears about the thottling it does get the person using recorded delivery a faster service.

I know what you mean about the e-mail customer services - they have still not replied to an email I sent to them on Monday! Almost takes as long for them to process an email as to return a disc!

Recorded Delivery is the best way to prove they are lying through their teeth.

My last lot took 5 days to get back to them, it is getting worst than ever. I don't believe I have had such a slow service in the history of renting DVRAB and I have been using all of the different companies for over a year now.
