LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Lovefilm has a fair use limit in their system. They had to admit to it recently when the ASA did an investigation. The main thing they do is send the titles that are in most demand to those that use the service the least, I think they also do other things like delay dispatch for heavy users.

They have only sent me 2 dvRAB in the last 8 days.
lovefilm are lying about unlimited rentals and we should complain about that.
plus getting dvRAB should be a good experience not for lovefilm customers who are now frustrated and piss*d off.

I am getting sick of rental companies and will now just buy copy's,as then i get what i want months before lovefilm decide to send me a disc i just added to my list to pad it out.
and less hassle.

did you know people who sell copy dvRAB fund terrorism

Have been a member of Blockbuster for a couple of weeks and after a promising start am now consistently getting discs from the bottom of my list - if at all. Was promising for the first couple of rentals, then rubbish. Will be leaving when my month is up if not before. Lovefilm now consistently send me three films per week on the same day (Friday) regardless of when the previous three rentals were returned. Their 'unlimited' service is therefore a lie and should be exposed as such. Still, at least you get stuff from the top of your list. Does anyone know of a company that provides top of the list rentals combined with quick turnaround? Probably about as likely as there being a Santa Claus.

Further to my note below, today I tried on 3 occasions to cancel my Lovefilm subscription via their expensive money-raking 0870 number. On all 3 occasions I was refused on account of a "major technical problem". This must be the same problem wqhich has prevented dispatch of my next DVD for 4 days. Frankly I do not blieve a word of it. It appears as if they are attempting to prevent customers leaving, which I expect lots are trying to do due to the appalling service. This is a company you should not touch with a barge pole.

It's just getting worse & worse for me. They've had all my dvd's back since monday Sent one out Tuesday and today are sending another one out!!!!

Once/if I get the 3rd disc I'm going to send them back and cancel when I've watched them. I thought people were over reacting on this thread but they really are that bad!!!

I HATE Lovefilm due to past experiences with the w@anker$ - as some of you may have realised!

Have been with ScreenSelect sice August 05 (previously with DVRAB365. No problems up until the beginning of April. Have only received half of the discs I usually receive in a month so have to assume something is going on.

Yes, I know there has been a major bank holiday but that's only an additional 2 days out of the 20 working days in April. SounRAB very much like the problems Lovefilm caused me in the first few months of 2005!!

Needless to say, if ScreenSelect (or whoever the parent company is) has taken over Lovefilm or is affiliated with them in any way, I WILL be cancelling my account. When a company gets too big they lose their customer service rapport and the quality of the service suffers.

It looks like I'll end up going to probably the only DVD rental company that's left - Blockbuster!

Lovefilm are crud, I gave up on them a long time ago after waiting ages for new dvRAB to arrive and for hardly ever getting priority selections.
I use Tesco now and they're mint tbf... can get up to 6 a week and have pretty much had all my priority dvRAB.

I haven't had problems with this spam e-mail people are on about, the only mail I get from them is to tell me a dvd is on the way.

And it's only been down twice since I joined, and that was just for a day.

Ah I see I'm not the only one... I was with Lovefilm last december, I cancelled because I was trying out other rental services, I found theirs the be the best in the end.

I too recieved the '3 months for 1' offer and took it up. 1 month later they've billed me and now they're accusing me of never having took up the offer in the first place. They also had the cheek to tell me that even if I had, I wouldn't be eligable because it's only open to people who 'cancelled the cancellation' of their account. How the hell was I supposed to do that 4 months after my original account ceased to exist!?

Unless this is a genuine mistake then it's a bloody con. Their reliability has waned too, I've been waiting 3 days for my latest dispatch of discs. Out of interest, if they refuse honour the offer and don't refund me, should I go to my local Trading StandarRAB office or theirs?

*snorts*

Yeah, I'm the CEO of BB :p

no, sorry. i'm complaining because I think 3 dvRAB in 2 weeks is pathetic! And if it was a one off, ok they might have had a problem, but as it happens constantly, I think we have a reason to be annoyed...

Thats what i did just before cancelling, they signed for the 3 of them on the monday, sent out 1 on thursday, 1 friday and 1 saturday despite over 60 titles on the list, so i removed all titles from the queue, sent back the 3 they sent and cancelled and told them exactly where to shove it, now i keep getting come back and get 3 months for 1 offers, no chance I will, not going to get shafted and lied to again.

Most rental companies are fantastic at first choice titles and turnaround in the first 2 weeks. Recommend cancelling and rejoining BLockbuster and Screenselect on a monthly basis as they are the current best two from my experience.

I have recently left BB when they started to slack and rejoined SS, sure enough top choices are flowing through again. Just when SS think they have me back and start to slack I will cancel and go back to BB. Bet this messes up all their throttling plans. :)

i just use amazon and for me, who really cant watch more than 6 films a month anyway it ideal. Ive never had any problems at all, got all the latest films within a couple of days, and the turnaround so far has never been more than 5 days so i cant complain for a tenner.

Fadger's posts were removed as the nature of them involved naming an individual at Lovefilm who has caused him much concern. The naming of this person was frowned upon by the moderators as that person was not aware of the allegation made and therefore was not able to defend themselves, hence in order to prevent a defamation action and in the interests of fairness, the posts were removed.

Any update on this action Fadger ?

From the horse's mouth --

I have cancelled my account with them due to their repeated lies to me ("no intentional delays", "non-preferential request lists") about their service, as admitted above.

Note: Until today, LoveFilm denied and denied and denied (in writing!) that they had a slowdown policy. This shows them to be baldfaced liars.
