LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Same here, since I complained, my 3 DVRAB a week became 1-2 a week. They probably know I will be cancelling so they don't see the point in sending me any titles.

I take it others will have had the email from them encouraging people to put 2 dvRAB back in the one envelope. They claim its all about saving paper but i wonder what the real reason could be?

Another slowing device as obviously your first of the two movies wouldnt get sent back as quickly?

Another cunning plan as Baldrick would say!

It depenRAB what you want. Yes if you want to pay the over the counter price to see a film for one evening then the shop is your thing, but if you want all the time in the world to watch them at much cheaper prices then the online rental is for you

I use a dvd rental company and they're excellent.
:) I don't get to watch them straightaway as it depenRAB on my working hours so rental dvd is perfect for me. If I don't like what I choose or make a bad choice then I send it back and in a couple of days I have another one.
It's individual choice, don't knock it until you've tried it. :)

Ps we're not DUMB, just exercising our right to choose. There's no need to be insulting

I wouldn't consider doing it anymore than once. I would just do it to prove to myself that they are getting them back next day and to point out to them in the future the irony of them getting them next day only on the time they had to sign for them. As far as i know recorded delivery shouldnt be any faster in theory so that would be be too much of a coincidence.

Giving a company credit where credit's due isn't anything to be ashamed of, even if you're not impressed with other aspects of what they do. We may not agree on certain things, but I respect you for comments like that.

I haven't had any trouble getting TV ones from Blockbuster online - and the added bonus is that if it's a 2 disc set it counts as one choice :)

Don't know which TV shows you are looking for, you might want to browse the Blockbuster site.

Here's what happened to me:

I signed up with LoveFilm yesterday. By a massive coincidence, ten minutes later, my housemate found one of these vouchers lying around! Turns out she is also with LoveFilm. She gave the voucher to me.

I cancelled my account. I need to call someone (an overseas call centre I think...) and explain my reasons for cancellation. The woman offered to give me free membership until August, quite amusing when I had only signed up that day. Anyway, this sounded a bit strange (I wondered if there was a catch like being refunded for these few months if I stayed longer), so I declined and signed up my girlfriend to LoveFilm, so we could use the voucher.

Girlfriend got an email saying that our address had already had a free trial (presumably my housemate - or maybe me after my approxmate 10 minutes of membership) and we couldn't get a free trial. No indication of whether we could use the voucher or not. The email says we have to make a payment, so I assume we couldn't use the voucher.

I've checked the voucher and it says in very small writing that existing users can't use it, but nothing about people with the same address. They have claimed we are the same "household" - well, whatever.

We have emailed back telling them to cancel the account (we don't want to be charged) and we will try Blockbuster or Amazon instead. I have told them there are clearly going to be issues if they think my housemate and my girlfriend and me are all the same place and all the same account. Reading this thread I anticipate being told we can't have DVRAB because my housemate has rented some or something!!

been having the same problems with lovefilm myself :/

i think the reason ppl seem so bothered by this is that they've had such a good service from them up until now. theyve really gone from providing a top class service to being unbelievabley bad

i dunno how useful the following info will be but i signed up to trials on 3-at-a-time services from screenselect, dvd365 and blockbuster and also cut my lovefilm list down to match 10 disc queues on all 4 rental services. On an even footing, with a fair amount of what i'd consider low demand titles (0 new releases or anything rly made in the last 3 yrs) I found the following:

from having built the selections up on sunday night:

lovefilm sent me 1 dvd on monday, arrived tuesday. choice #3 out of 10. still no sign of the other 2 discs i guess as part of this new game theyre playing to try and put themselves out of business.

screenselect sent me 3 dvRAB on monday, 1 arrived tuesday, 2 on wednesday. choices #3, 9 and 10.

blockbuster sent 3 on monday, 3 arrived tuesday, choices #1, 2, and 7

dvd365 sent 3 on monday, 3 arrived tuesday, choices #2, 3, and 5.

Obviously this isnt a flawless test of the services but take from it what you will. i think for me personally I just have to decide between dvd365 and blockbuster in the next few days before i cancel lovefilm :)

I must admit Ive had no problems with LF... sent my last discs back last Friday, they were shown as rec'd on Mon, and I got my next ones delivered on Tues. Maybe Ive just been lucky.....

Ive certainly found them better than Tesco who I was with originally.

You've just convinced me to signup with an online rental service.

Anyone who is rude anought to laugh at people who are having problems with somthing they paid for, call them "dumbies" and tell them is " serves them right" ( very mature i must say) is a woefully bad advertisment for the local rental shop you seem to be advocating.

Personally i hope your store goes out of buisness. Please come back and tel us if it does so we can say "serves you right!"

Yes i know its 9 pages in already and this was on page one.. :p

i am contemplating e-mailing the CEO of Love Film as the customer service staff have yet to reply to any of my e-mails and when they do, they just send the same jargon as WeatherfieldWil pointed out, I am gonna do a Google search and see if I can get an address for the CEO of Love Film.

Thought I'd revive this quite infamous thread.

Reason being is that I've had 6 DVD's ( 2 discs at once package ) go missing in the post over the last 2 months.

Lovefilm claim that the Royal Mail has "returned to sender" because the address label ( ie my address ) must have been damaged in the post.

I've been promised 4 "bonus DVD's" above & beyond my "normal allocation".

Just seems a little contrived for me. I've been with them for 5+ years, and been very happy with the service hitherto.

Anyone else having such problems ?

Wake up & smell the coffee..ALL these on line renters are running at losses, film companies are backing them because they want their potential punters to get net knowledge so they can fatten you all up for the slaughter.Direct downloading..& when this is (although I believe doubtful) in place it will cost you all a lot more than
