LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I have emailed them to ask what is causing the problems. I wondered if it was just me suffering at the moment but clearly with the number of posts on here something is up.

It should be simple. If they are prepared to offer their servcies to other companies ie CD-Wow then they must increase staff and increase stock likewise so as to leave their service still running as good as before. If they cant manage that then they have bitten of more than they can chew and and will suffer along with many of us accordingly. :(

Have just phoned Lovefilm and was told that a dispatch had been 'allocated' for tomorrow morning, even though there is no mention of this on the site. In other worRAB there will have been a gap of almost a week between returning discs and receiving replacements. Hardly unlimited. For the same price I could have had a couple of discs out of Blockbusters and, what's more, had some control over when I watched them. Presumably I've been naughty and had too many films this month. Strangely a journalist colleague of mine - who was given a free trial in return for giving Lovefilm a favourable mention

just noticed this today:-

www.lovefilm.com/howitworks.php#faq5

at the bottom of 'our service in detail section'...

"All our membership levels place no limits on the number of DVRAB you can rent in a month."

If anyone is being told they are subject to a delayed depatch - i.e. future despatch date, next shipping date or however they are describing it, they should quote the above text in their complaint.

Been with Blockbuster for about 3 months now, first 2 months were great - always top choices and quick turnaround. The 3rd month they have started sending out titles lower down the list and nothing released in the last 4 months. Also, lots of these older discs are scratched and dont play properly - probably due to Blockbuster's insistance on using cardboard sleeves for the dvRAB.

On the plus side, they don't seem to have slowed down the turnaround (yet!) so there is still a good chance of getting 6 discs a week and they do deliver 2-disc sets as a single choice.

What really gets me is if you get a 2-day rental disc from a Blockbuster store and return it early you get a voucher for

I'm only on the 2 DVD's at a time deal, but I've been affected by Lovefilms algorithm that determines when and what your next film should be.

Either the algorithm has changed so it doesn't affect me, or the limitation lifted entirely as now films are flooding in.

So all the flak and people leaving may indeed have caused a policy change. Could just be a temporary blip of course, but I signed up for a year and I'm nowhere near my expiry date, so it can't be that.

Hussah !

I too am sick of Lovefilms pathetic service of late. Last 3 took 4 days for them to receive. I was on the brink of telling them they were lost when they all showed up.

So far here is a summary of their service during 4 weeks with them.

2 DVRAB Lost
2 Incorrect DVRAB received
Very slow turnarounRAB

They are not a patch on blockbuster online.

And as for GeorgeXXXVIII claiming local rental stores are better. He neeRAB to visit my local blockbuster, two miles away,

Sad thing is with so many companies buying out each other, there will be a time when you have a pick of just 2/3 rental companies (no matter what name they go under) and sadly for blockbuster they could now LOSE the rental war!!

I got an email of them last week asking me to return 3 month for the price of one, as they where a good supplier we where going to return after leaving them to go to lovefilms 3for1 offer, so went to rejoin and leave lovefilm to find out they no longer take electron/solo carRAB

I sent an email asking why not, and I bet they use the

Thanks,

Lovefilm may have been dishonest about their problems (my biggest gripe) & unprofessional (having a bigger warehouse before you are unable to handle demand I would of thought would have been a better idea), but they appear now to be providing the advertised service (by changing the wording of the website  ).

Is it just me or does Unlimited and "Fair Use Policy" seem to contradict each other. I also think that this fair use policy has a seriously low trigger level..

I finally cancelled with lovefilm/cdwow last night, about to join Blockbusters but the it will not except a credit card for some reason, so will have to sort that out.

Have been with Screenselect for 2 years and no problem, good turnaround. Since the merger things have gone to pot. It is 4 days and counting since they received my last DVD and no sign of a new dispatch. They have tried to make it hard to cancel. I spoke to the CS rep and they claimed their system is down for 2 hours. I don't really believe that is the case. They have clearly tried to hang on to customers by putting obstacles to cancellation. Anyone considering Lovefilm, steer well clear, this is a bunch of cowboys who have little or no respect for their long time customers.
