LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Oh no, was wondering where my DVRAB were....guess I won't be recieving them until Tuesday at the earliest.

This will probably ruin both companys, and Unicron's predictions will be right :(

Thought he argued his case fairly logically to me. Perhaps above and beyond the call of duty for someone who wasn't connected to LoveFilm, but logically nonetheless.

Just wondered, if there is a specific reason, or was he just banned on a whim?

I am interested to read this thread as at least I know it's not just me.
When I first joined LF a few months ago I couldn't fault them. They were really fast at delivering and sent out things at the top of the queue. Now they are very slow, not impressed really. :(
Think I will be cancelling soon.

What happens when you call the number? Do you have to give details so obscure that it's almost impossible to cancel or do you just get put on hold?

AOL was a nightmare to cancel, they wanted the card number I used when I opened the account, which was about 3 carRAB ago.

I had a "get 3 months completely free" offer at Christmas.

Joined Monday, account still not activated.

Out of interest followed the "cancel" button. Hmmm - you can no longer cancel on-line. You could when it was screen select.

Phoned the number out of interest, the indian guy knew I wanted to cancel but strangely couldn't cancel my account as the "system was down" and "could you call tomorrow". Hmmmmm.

I know I'm not going to be paying for the next 3 months, but I just know it's going to be 3 months of pain. I bet I don't get 24 films in 3 months.

According to me they have changed their tactics.

Here is how they have been operating for me:

First week - Excellent service, 1 day for them to receive with received dates, 6 rentals per week - All from top 10.

After first week - Poor service, 4 days for them to receive with received dates, 3 rentals per week - From top 20.

Now - Poor service, 4 days for them to receive with no received dates, 1 day wait before dispatch, 3 rentals per week - From top 20.

Only received a reasonable service in first week.

They are back, as I got an email from them yesterday. It was to tell me I cant use a voucher they sent me as I have had a free trial before, I have complained to them. Why send a voucher to an old user telling them to use the voucher themself or givr it away, only to say I cannot use it!

Rather not waste my time telling him how to run his own company. If he doesn't know how to maintain a successful business he shouldn't be in the position he is in now.

I'm sure he has a glance in this forum every now and then registers a new username and pretenRAB to be a happy customer. ;)

I have to say that I'm happy with lovefilm.. I've had around 200 titles from them and only one badly scratched dvd which jumped all over the shop which they sent a replacement in addition to the three i get anyway.
Then again I blame the soRAB that don't know how to handle a disc from pack to player and back. It was the same from my local retailer, they don't check the disk after every return, they never did with vhs either, so many more bad viewings back then!!.

I found the rectangular envelopes a pain as i could only get two discs in them, the square ones i get three in provided they are in paper covers and not the screen select plastic type.

The ONLY problem i have is that since the screen select merger i've been waiting ages for a title to be available to rent that was with ss, is reservable ( a word? ) with lf but but TBC on the date. I have it reserved but it's still not available after all this time. A few months before xmas I think.

I only chose lovefilm over screenselect after they (sccreenselect) refused to pay my Quidco earnings when i tried them both out!!

So all in all I'm happy here... Turn arounRAB are fine in south wales.

Add a pinch of Slysoft and you've a nice desert!!

I don't want to sound like a LoveFilm fan, but I have to agree. Their website was well set out, easy to use and with some unique features. Probably the best I have seen for DVD rentals.

Shame the service level doesn't mirror the website!

Like some forum members I had what looked like a standard reply from the Lovefilm MD promising to monitor my account and make sure the service improved. If anything it's got worse. Sent one film back on Saturday, one on Friday. Still waiting for replacements. Have sent a couple of e-mails asking for my next allocated shipping date (the little detail they overlook to mention when they promise an 'unlimited' service) but no replies. If this is improved service then give me the old one quick! I had to laugh when they said they'd moved to Peterborough because of its excellent postal service - it's got one of the most appalling recorRAB of late/non delivery in the country! The bottom line in all this is

i used to be with Screenselect and was happy with no problems , the first 3 discs from Lovefilm arrived last week . I watched then and returned all three in the same envelope as they requested (tight fit) last friday 13th . So far they have not marked the discs as having been returned . With Screenselect it would probably have been recieved monday and i would have the next discs by tuesday , wednesday at the latest . I have proof of postage so not worried at all , just annoyed about the merger . I will probably have to change again ...

I have just been on holiday. In the 3 weeks before I left I had to wait 6 days for my films to be returned. While I was away I kept 3 films on home that were still there when I returned 2 weeks later. I returned 2 of these yesterday and guess what. Because I am under quota for the month I have an instant turn around time of 2 days.

Just goes to prove what they are doing.
Also a lot of the discs sent are already faulty. This did not used to be the case. I guess it is a case of too many subscribers and not increasing the infrastructure on the company

I am going to Amazon since I have watched a large back catalogue of films and now just want a few new ones a month.

I doubt any of you who are receiving a good service will continue to do so once the first 2 week honeymoon period is over.

My service was good at the beginning, top 3 titles without hesitation then the rot sank in and it stank after 2 weeks.

I have had top 10 titles stay there since then. Blade Trinity has been number one since release and still have not seen it.

Treating new customers good isn't exactly good business sense as I too was once a new customer and now I think they are the worst rental company I have ever had the misfortune of joining. I wonder if they will improve the service near the next billing date.

Only got 2 rentals last week how's that for a sucky service. They are average to use even with a 3 for the price of 1 month promotion, but even then it's like getting blood out of a stone when it comes to dispatching titles.
