LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

I don't normally drop by the movie forum, but just had to agree with alot of what has been said about Lovefilm.

I've been with them, on and off, for probably about a year.

During that time there has been the odd period of slackness, normally after they took over another company, which is maybe understandable.

This last period though has just gone beyond a joke.

Ok, they are moving warehouses, and that might account for some of the delays, but for two months?

I emailed them a few weeks ago when it all started going downhill.

Instead of being told "Oh we're sorry, we're just moving warehouses, and things might take a short time to settled down"

I get... "Our service isn't bad, the discs are sent out first class the same day" ...implying that I'm either lying or an idiot.

Myself, and several frienRAB have noticed (like everybody on here) that there is no fault to be laid at Royal Mail - the discs go back, they appear in your queue as been returned, and then nothing happens.

And as for 'receive 3 discs at a time' - I can't remember the last time I had three discs in one go.

Even though there appears to be a glimmer of hope - the service seems to have improved over the past few days - we're all cancelling our subscriptions this month... over

i get a good service usually, send on mon,new 1 sent on tues, recieve on wed...cant see it being better than that?

altho last night i was looking forward to transformers 2 on blu ray and it didnt arrive in post:( hope its here today as dont normally have any probs with lovefilm

has anybody else had the email i`ve had...

not sure how i can join, seeing as i`m already with them!!

wonder if advertising standarRAB can get invloved with the 2nd part?

The 'greedy guts' in this case is Lovefilm, not the customer.

They want to cut down on their postage and operating costs, we do them a favour by sending them back quick, it means more people can enjoy the DVRAB we return. The 'quick returners' dip into their profit margins and they can't accept that.

If they don't have enough to go around they shouldn't keep giving out '3 for 1 month all you can rent buffet' offers.

At the end of the day the customer is always right and if they can't give us the service we expect, our money will go elsewhere.

Using the alternative channels argument is rather pathetic, if he is referring to local video stores which are well overpriced as it is, it is a very poor comparison.

Anyway when I go to a local store I always get the film I want unlike Lovefilm who seem to get a kick out of giving me the lowest titles from my list. I might completely reverse my list and see if they are intentionally giving me the bottom stuff.

I used an alternative channel in the form of Blockbuster and they were far more consistent than Lovefilm. If they cannot handle the simple task of 6 a week, then they shall have to kiss my crisp

Despite only having 13 rentals since 3rd of May LoveFilm have not despatched any disks to me today, after receiving the 3 back.

Hardly UNLIMITED is it.

Jamie's post alluded to the fact that Lovefilm seem to want to compare themselves to bricks & mortar DVD rental outlets, where you get decent service and the DVD that you want, when you want. But should be comparing themselves to other on-line retailers - where they don't work out that cheap - for films from the bottom of your list.

And underscore2, we will be leaving as soon as our latest rental period runs out. Or can you not work that out?

No one is saying you should, if you are getting a good service then congrats, but treat this as a heaRAB up, because we were all getting a good service at some point.

Recorded delivery is a good tactic but it will cost you extra money in doing that. If you did that I bet they make it a priority to ship your ones out but do you really want to pay an additional 65p per film just to have the kind of turnaround that they should supply anyway.

Our best way to get our message across is to continue to send them emails everytime they take over 2 days to receive our movies back.

Sometimes with LoveFilm, you're given the option of selecting the bonus disc along with the main feature.

Some rental disc have nothing on them & some have a few extras, gag reel, commentary etc. I think it depenRAB on the supplier.

:)

The CEO can say what he wants, but if people aren't pleased with the service and leave because of it, he'll soon have to change his ideas on what is reasonable or not.

not much gravy here - looks like I'm getting no films to watch this weekend from lovefilm. they got people back at the beginning of september with a 2 months for the price of 1 offer and it shows!

That explains it. Earlier I posted about films flooding in, but this proved to be a false dawn. Back to the usual 2 DVRAB a week, slower turn around in terms of which day thet were sent out, but I've just got my top 2 rentals back to back for the first time I can remember.

Maybe there is some sort of points system built into the throttling algorithm too, depending on the queue position of the rental. Perhaps when membership is high due to special offers, put your real top choices first, otherwise have you top choices near the bottom of the queue.

Silly to have to try to buck the system to get what you really want, and that special offers to keep / attract members have such an effect on long term members, but it would seem certain that the algorithm is loaded towarRAB this.
