LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

They have sent me the wrong dvd today
so it will be only 2 dvRAB for me this week instead of the mighty 3.

i hate lovefilm,i have been with them off and on for about 2 years,i will never re join them again.

I just 'phoned India' to cancel my lovefilm.com account after less than two weeks.

I'll say one thing for them, they are so intolerably bad that the free trial period is easily enough time for you to decide that the service is utterly worthless.

Just don't do it.

i decided to cancel my account after no response as my posts above. My last DVD is still registered as not being received by them (sendf on 25.10.06) and as i went through the cancellation process it said that if not recd back by 02.11.06 i would be charged for it. I decided to reverse the cancellation until the DVD was back with them and now have just been informed by their website the next payment has been taken out of my account immediately. grrrrrrrrrrrr

the next thing I imagine we will see happening is a Merger between SS and LoveFilm and then Netflix coming to the UK and buying them up and rebraning to Netflix.

They say that you will have 2 separate threaRAB of deliveries, each with a new DVD within 24 hours of them receiving a return, then go on to say "where possible", and that's their get-out clause. Normal turnaround from posting the old, to recieving the new is around 4 days in my experience. Qustion them and they inevitably blame the postman. I've quit and they say that the part month that I've paid for will not be honoured by them. I think that they are breaking the law.

I've been with ScreenSelect/Lovefilm since March 2006, and in all that time, I only had one disc problem. I just wasn't able to watch the film in its entirety, due to a faulty DVD, but this was duly reported to them.

This is how they describe the service on their site.

Therefore if they are assigning 'next despatch dates' to you the customer they are breaking the terms of the service as per how they sold it to you.

I understand that, but to lose money they would have to be losing more customers than they were gaining. For instance, 100 cancel, only 50 sign up. I'm sure that like any company there is a revolving door of custom. It happens, but if they were loss making, which is what you are implying, they wouldn't be expanding in the way that they are.

Absolutely nothing. However, as a satisfied customer of the company I am as entitled to put my view across and suggest people give them a try as you are to say cancel. If my happiness with what I'm getting for my money upsets or offenRAB you, tough!

How poor they are IN YOUR OPINION and EXPERIENCE. There are many more people like me who are satisfied with what we get.

You're still suggesting that? You're more of a fool that I gave you credit for. There are so many reasons why I couldn't be him, many of them biological.

And then people like you would just hijack it and say how bad you're found their service to be. What would be the point of that? I can make my point here thank you very much, or are you just used to having everything your own way and no one disagreeing with you?

Maybe so, but I'm still entitled to have my say, and just because all the other people who like what they get don't subscribe to this forum doesn't mean they don't exist.

In the real world there is very possibly a good chance that it is YOU who are in the minority.

Anyway, if we still lived in a world where being a minority meant you couldn't speak out we would be living in a dictatorship.

Do any of you actually work with the public, if you did you would know that the only thing that you want to do when you get of the phone is get on with your work, if it is nasty maybe rant for a few seconRAB, if it's really nasty walk away for a while but you really don't dwell on it for the rest of the day or you would turn into marvin from Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy or an eeyore like character. :D

I would check the T&Cs and then contact you credit card company if you payed this way for the annual and the extra month they charged. A good CC company will sort it out for you if you are not getting what you paid for and expecially the extra charge. It is worth a go, I know Egg for one are very good at offering help.

Lovefilm allow 15 rentals in my experience before implementing their "Fair useage policy" it dosen't seem to be unlimited it then takes around 2 - 3 days for them to issue a film on the return of a rental.

It is rumoured that when Netflix arrives in the UK, they will take over an incumbent player rather than start up and grow organically......So who do we reckon they would buy up ? screenselect or Lovefilm.

Yeah I sent back my 3 rented DVD's and had to wait 5 days till they arrived to them and they sent another 3 out. Do BB have a good range of movies ? I was thinking about moving to SS, but my next billing date on LF is 23rd of June and I joined last month on some special offer, sioo I think I'll be sticking with them till then.
