LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

The week before Screenselect became Lovefilm I removed all my titles and let both rental slots empty, for whatever reason the cancel option then changed to the 0870 message.

I ended up using the contact form, I requested they cancel my account immediately and that I refuse to call the number to do so. I got an email the next day saying that I could use the cancel form via the website.

So it seems like they can turn it on if the customer makes a request...

I think you will find that my cancellation as well as many others in this forum has resulted in them losing money. I will not be rejoining them so no matter how you look at it, they have lost money from me regardless of any new additional customers.

What exactly do you gain from supporting Lovefilm? I know that telling people how poor they are will result in them losing out on potential new customers which they deserve after the absolute shoddy service I received.

I fail to see why you feel they are worthy of defending. Maybe you truly are the CEO. Maybe you should start a new thread saying how great they are and see how many supporters you get. You are a minority in this thread.

You're right about subscriber numbers.

It looks like they're trying to keep their backers happy. If they can show that subscriber levels are increasing they can con people that their a growing dotcom. Afterall it appears that the last thing a dotcom neeRAB is profitability.

And yes, despite all the hassle, I would sign up for a 30-day free offer -
just to screw them for some more discs.

Would I ever pay them money again? NO!

Actually, I might cancel now. I've froze my account but my next billing date is Sunday.

i am having major problems with Love Film, I post stuff back and it takes up to 2-3 days for them to recieve it, also sometimes they send DVD's to me, I never recieve them and by some act of god, they recieve them back.

I was with screen select up until recently but I had even more hassle with them, whenever I sent a DVD back, they would get it next day but still take 3 days to send out a new one.

I am with Blockbuster at the moment and so far they seem ok as they sent me the first 3 items on my rental list.

The agreement says nothing about them having to send you a rental within 24 hours.

I'm afraid their terms and conditions cover them and their service is not advertised as 'unlimited' so there is no deceit involved.

I cannot see how you could have bought a successful case against them.

Same automised message I always get, hope they don't start turning into a company like ebay and always send out automated responses with pointless links as the reply.

They are clearly understaffed. When they took over moviechoices, they clearly did not increase their staff or systems. We are talking about one major crammed Post Box that is stuffed with DVRAB day in, day out.

The people who work there probably get very little pay and have no incentive to work any faster than they need to. Their system of checking in discs is probably a very poor system too.

I'm disgusted with their attitude and replies to my complaints.

Just seen this...

I am on the 4 DVD package and have had only 16 DVD's in the last 4 weeks! Pathetic or what? They have lost my custom at the end of my next billing period that's for sure. I am disabled and also live in the country so forget video shops. Also my post is spot on and rarely ever get a postal problem.

As said above, they send to me and I get next day - 99% of the time.

I send back on a Tuesday and they receive them *6* whole day's later the Monday afterwarRAB. Guaranteed every single time, this for the last 5 weeks and the service before this was fine.

Of course they throttle the service despite their denials of this, but they are cutting their own throats by doing so. I say we setup a "Boycott LoveFilm" webpage and see if they start paying some attention then. ;)

Jamie, who am I personally mocking? No one.

I have justified why I am happy with them & do not feel I should have to keep doing this, rest assured as soon as something negative happens I will darken this forum with the news you all want to hear.

Bronson, I have been a member for around 6 months now been paying since after the 14 day trial I enjoyed.

Whatever.

If it does then I'll take my custom elsewhere, but so far I'm happy. If you can't handle that fact, that's your problem.

we`ve gone back to them but only for the 3for1 offer, then were off, they are RUBBISH at the moment with dvd`s

we sent 1 film back on monday, and friday it was took off our list of films we have out.

maybe it`s cause they now run so many companies, it`s ok whsmith/sainsburysdvdrental/lastminute.com and a few others, saying they rent dvd`s but THEY don`t lovefilm do for them.

so the more companies lovefilm let there stock out to, the WORSE there going to get,

My recollection of using LOVEFilm is that they had barcodes on the DVRAB or the sleeves - is this right? If so, presumably they simply open the envelope, scan the barcode and the software does the rest. And if that is the case, then the delays people are seeing now must be factored into the software in order to regulate the rate at which DVRAB are issued. It would be ridiculous to sift throught the disks, a business that size must be run like a military operation.

Someone made a "pay peanuts, get monkeys" type comment. LOVEFilm's rivals, Screenselect, advertise for staff on their site and the pay is

The crazy thing is, it doesn't even save on the postage !
Lovefilm wil pay a charge when they print the envelope out, regardless of if it is posted or not !
