LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

To be honest, I don't normally go for many newer films, it's just that I have a build up that i've missed due to the last few weeks on LoveFilm.

I've got a 140 strong list of films, so i'm easy, as long as they keep sending them. :)

I have an inkling that some of the unhappy LoveFilm "customers" on here are being being put up to it by rival companies. Only that could explain some of the remarks made by certain people

I'm cancelling at the end of the month too. The service was great for the first few weeks but now is just ridiculous. They've decided to only send 1 disc out at a time even though they have logged all my discs as returned.

I signed up to Blockbuster yesterday night and they have sent my 3 discs out today. I also like how you can choose to have discs of a particular genre which means you don't have to keep changing the order when you want a particular type of film.

Also, how reliable is their first to last option? And do you have to have the whole series on your list for it to work or can you have discs 2-6?

I joined blockbuster rental about 10 days ago and froze my LF account just to see what the difference would be. Personally I havent had too many problems with LF. I have noticed that blockbuster are sending titles from lower down in my list - first week 5,6,7 and then yesterday 5,9. Ill give it a couple more weeks before I decide which one to stay with but at the moment BB havent done anything to make me switch yet.

They are annoying me. I get eight DvRAB a week but seldom ones from the top and now they send 3 one day and 1 the next which really annoys me as it messes my schedule up.

I'm with Lovefilm & Blockbuster, with LF noticed thier service has become p**h in the last month or so, blockbuster is by far the better of the two but they are not perfect either.

Did lovefilm not have something to do with channel4?

Also i have been stung with this CARS recovery crap from when i was a member of MovieChoices (my service never stopped, and continued till the present day with Lovefilm..how can i owe them months subs is beyond me) so i'm going to freeze LF till the delivery issue and this alledged debt is sorted out.

Before i freeze i will be sending my 4 dvd's back by Recorded Delivery first to see when they list them and Second to make sure the b*****s don't try to bill me again.

ALSO i've noticed they've moved warehouse would this have affected thier delivery? Also tenRAB to suggest that thier is changes going on.. NetFlix coming in?

Sadly, I think you might have a point there. I've tried to play the Jurassic Park DVD. The didn't have that many surface marks on the DVD. Thought it would be fine but, it won't play!!

I thought Philips were a good make DVD-RW. Maybe they aren't :s I'm gonna have to look at a few options here, DVD-drive, DVD playing software, DVD drive lens cleaners. Reckon Lovefilm will chuck me off their service if this keeps up lol.

What's the point? I did e-mail him and CC'd it to the chairman and it just got passed to Rachel Collins, the Customer Services Manager, who gave me the same cr*p about 'value for money'. I replied demanding a free week for the failure to provide the service I'd paid for (which I'd been given the previous two weeks when I complained to Customer Services) but this time I was told that I couldn't have a free week as I'd received my 3 discs, and that Lovefilm's Terms and Conditions don't promise to send these all at the same time, as if the service I'd paid for was 3 discs a week, not 3 discs at a time, unlimited discs a month. The reference to their T&C's is ludicrous, because they don't promise to send ANY DVD's so if they were all that customers were able to rely on, Lovefilm could get away with not sending any discs. IANAL, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that, and the description/advertising of the service on the rest of the website is as much a part of the contract as the T&C's.

I was also told that a 'special' note had been put on my account and that I should see an improvement over the following two weeks.

For the previous three weeks, I was getting sent 1 or 2 discs if I was lucky, or they were waiting 48hrs before sending anymore out, even though they'd received all previous discs back, which is obviously limiting the amount of discs I can receive in a month, contrary to their selling the service as 'unlimited rentals a month' (http://www.lovefilm.com/howitworks.php).

After this reply, suddenly discs were taking 2-3 days to get back to them, whereas previously they had ALWAYS been logged back in the day after I posted them. I guess it could have been a coincidence, or something to do with their move, but I suspect it was more likely that they were delaying logging the discs back in so they could blame it on postal delays.

I can't help but wonder if I'd just kept complaining to CS, rather than the CEO, whether they might not have kept giving me a free week every time I complained about their failure to provide the service I'd paid for. Probably not and to be honest, I'm as glad to be rid of them as they probably are of me (being a heavy user and a complaining one at that!).

Anyway, I've cancelled my sub now and complained to Essex Trading StandarRAB, although I haven't received a reply yet. I'll give them a ring next week to chase them up, assuming LF are still in their jurisdiction considering their move!

You all might want to take note of the fact that Screen Select and DVRAB365 service might get a whole lot worse as Screen Select has acquired DVRAB365 and all sites powered by them, which means Qflicks, movietrak and others will now be owned and operated by Screen Select.

I now have proof that LF are not providing the service requried of them.

Yesterday I returned two discs in the same envelope as an experiment (and to satisfy their cheap requests). I wanted to know:
'would they update my queue showing both discs returned?'

I have received an email informing my that another disc has been dispatched today, I check my rental queue and TA-DAH!! only one of the discs posted back has been marked as received!!

Personally I don't think that's a very fair way to treat customers or conduct business.

 I can't wait for my current monthly period to end so I can tell them to shove their crap service right up their f**king arse!!!

I'll also wait to see what response I get from their useless CS.

Oh, and this is now on their site:
"Due to the recent changes to the website, lots of you are emailing us and we are busily working our way through your queries. We will be responding to you shortly. There's no need to send us another email, we will come back to you as soon as possible, and thank you for bearing with us during this time."

I think you'll find the reason that lots of us are emailing you is to find out why you're so sh*t and providing such a simple service!!!!

After I got my masters degree I did a 'menian' job for a time while I was applying for relevant jobs in my field, just to keep the wolves from the door, be able to pay the bills, keep busy instead of sitting at home on my fat ar*e, claiming dole.

As DNR doesn't like 'Phat N' filling their order, perhaps DNR would rather they stay and home, not work, and then they can pay for 'Phat N's lifestyle via their taxes? Or maybe DNR and whoever else can email the CEO (I believe WeatherfieldWil might just have the address somewhere ;) ) and get all the staff to get more suitable tags/ID's/nicknames that are more to your liking.

Surely you're not going to try and tell me that there aren't any people with masters degrees out there doing alternative/lesser/temporary/holding jobs for whatever reason? I know at least 3 personally!

Anyway, this is all hypothetical. I'm not saying that's definately why Phat N is working there, I don't know (and to be quite honest, couldn't care less) who they are, I was just making the point that don't assume they're 'a bit dodgy' or whatever because they have a nickname, tag, or bizarre ID.

I'm with Screenselect now, after Blockbuster sent tv show dvRAB in the wrong order 3 weeks running.

They're great, if you can live with their priority system, which actually works out better for me. Much simpler than numbering films.

I don't know about them being taken over by Netflix but I have read that they've merged with Video Island. You can read more about if you click.................. HERE!
