LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

The amount of subscribers they will be losing after their lacklustre performances over the last few months, I recommend they cancel the new warehouse and find a more approriate sized base like their garage. ;)

Hiya Jamie Barrie

Quote, Abraham did you still have to pay a full months subscription even though they suspended you?

The best way I can explain is give you the details from my account page at LF (which I've just checked). Joined 7th April (on 3 months for l month charge) billing period 1 month, next billing date 14th August. So while the suspension is in place they are not charging me, and if I remain suspended for say another 10 days my next billing date wil be reset to 24th August. If LF do decide to kick me off, as I see it I then lose the 2 free months, and a refund, (if any) would be very little.

It's now 5 weeks odd since Lovefilm suspended my a\c, so I may well be in for a long haul before this is finally sorted out . Also they can't charge me for the 3 missing discs, as about 2 weeks ago I sent them an email asking them tro get the post office to send me a form to fill in re missing discs. Therefore I'm cooperating with Royal Mail, so am in the clear. Lf confirmed they received that email.

In the meantime I've also signed up with Screenselect, and (so far) the sevice is good .

After being with LoveFilm for more than 5 months, the quality has gone down the loo.

When I first joined, the service was A++ the customer services department were on form and the movies were coming thick and fast.

Now they are being delayed in delivery, supposedly the fault of the Royal Mail, and the DVD's I am getting are not from the top 10, some movies I have had on there since the went onto the Pre-order list, but i think that means nothing to LoveFilm.

The movie I have wanted went onto my list when it came out and I put it at number 1, its now been a month and still no sign of the movie. When I sent an e-mail to them asking them for an explanation I was surprised to recieve the Bog-standard e-mail which "DieDieMyDarling" from these message boarRAB recieved:

To me this is first line customer support stuff, but when I pressed further they sent me the same e-mail but with a different persons name at the bottom of the page.

I am now formalizing my complaint to BBC Watchdog and to Trading StandarRAB Office I would suggest more people do the same and cc: the e-mails to LoveFilm.

It s absolutely normal for business post to be picked up after 5.30 - especially when you're handling the capacity of out going mail that they have. I work for a large company (in a totally different industry I hasten to add incase some of you suggest it's Lovefilm) and our mail goes out after after 5.30 too. It's not a conspiracy or whatever other paranoid theory you'd care to apply.

revens 9 how sneaky can you get ?
two 3 month trials of discs delivered to the same house !!
how did you get away with that ?

its almost as sneaky as me, ordering a camera on qvc, downloading all the
graphics software on the disc , then sending the camera back within the month and getting a full refund .

Do you know for a FACT they've lost money through cancellations or are you just assuming they have? That would suggest that people are cancelling but no-one else is signing up.

In the business the world, an increase in an RRP usually means that demand is so great that you can milk it, rather than whacking up prices which will put new customers off rather than tempting them in.

This is happening with me too. 8 months of receiving my discs back next day and for the last 3 weeks or so its been taking 2 to 3 days. Basically if i want to have any titles for the weekend i cant watch any through the week like i used to.

Seemingly they are offering a incentive to cancelled members to get them back, something like 2 months free. Thats all very well but if it leaRAB to slower mail and current members leaving what have they achieved?

It better improve soon.

The thing is, that someone who uses that as an excuse as to why on an unlimited DVD rental service they are contradicting themselves, isn't going to listen to any sort of reason. Even when confronted with proof. Basically he's saying we value you as a customer up until a certain point. I mean of course it would have cost me more elsewhere, which is why I chose an online rental service. I mean you can't provide an Unlimited DVD rental service, and then whine (throttle) about the fact that customers are taking optimal advantage of it. That is their only appeal and marketing angle?!

perhaps someone should confront LoveFilm about their Throttling policy as it is not mentioned in their Terms & Conditions as it is in the US on the Netflix Website.

Surely such activity contravenes advertising legislation as they advertise an "Unlimited Service", how can it be unlimited if they are capping rentals ?

Regarding long term customers and how happy they are with Lovefilm, i have been with them since July 04 and can i catergorically state, I HAVE NEVER BEEN ASKED IN A SURVEY OR ELSEWHERE, WHAT I THINK OF THEIR SERVICE.

So either i have been strangely overlooked or we can conclude that the 98% figure or whatever was a survey conducted with people who were being given preferential treatment who would obviously be happy or some other hand picked few.

Hey Zooropa56,

I had the same hassle with LoveFilm, because I am unemployed, I am able to watch and return the DVD's, the same day I recieve them. They started off well and I was able to get 9 a week, however over the last few weeks, I was lucky if I got two a week as it took up to 5 days for them to recieve a title back.

I am now with blockbuster who are much better with a really really fast turnaround.

I did a bit of research and LoveFilm might be throttling the DVD rentals as Netflix is doing in the USA.

A few people here have e-mailed customer services to complain, however we all seem to get the same automated response which doesnt really answer our questions. They tried to blame the delay on royal mail, however someone here sent their rentals back recorded delivery and they recieved it next day but still took 5 days to turn it around.

Some people here have e-mailed the CEO of lovefilm to complain, perhaps some of the newcomers on here might want to try it as it's a shame to see a once really good online DVD rental company go down the pan.

I am getting incredibly annoyed with the service of Love Film. I used to get a really good service and now I have to wait 2-3 days until they send out 3 DVRAB. It used to be automatic.

As for going to my local Blockies that is over a mile and a half away. They don't stock the kind of things I watch,so I am stuck with Love Film and hope it improves.

Have to agree with the above - I joined a few months ago and service has ben appalling. Going to cancel and go back to my smelly old local shop.

I've just sent another email of complaint to this pathetic company. I have had no rented titles since Tuesday and it looks like I won't be getting anything until next week now.

With 40+ titles I think it is incredibly poor.

Yes I received the private message but doubt I shall be contacting their chairman. Their CEO never bothered to reply to me.

Not really getting anywhere with this company at all. Service is getting slower than ever before. Have resorted to joining blockbuster in order to get a good supply of movies to watch. I think I will just use Lovefilm for my less wanted to see movies and cancel Lovefilm when next payment date draws near as they refuse to offer partial refunRAB.

The only problem I've had recently is with slightly older films (i.e. pre-2003).
I've had two which have been unwatchable due to horrendus stratching - it annoys me that these "pickers" do not check the discs.

As for throttling, never been a problem, but anyone who expects to get more than two new releases a week is really expecting alot. It'll never happen.
