LoveFilm are getting on my t*ts

Cheers for the PM.

The liklihood is he will just forward them to the Customer Services team again and also you would have to think that their policy of delaying returns etc is probably his direct instructions but at least we can let steam off.

Chicken and egg situation isn't it? If the service didn't start getting crappy in the first place, there would be no reason to change company. Why should paying customers get a worse service than the free trialists? They should all get the same treatment.

I've been reading this thread off and on for several weeks. I too was with LoveFilm, but cancelled it about a month ago after about 4 months service. The first 3 months were excellent, but then almost exactly 3 months in (at the end of the 3 months for 1 deal) I started experiencing what most people seem to get .. slow down in turnaround, low priorite titles being sent constanly. I was also annoyed I had to phone to cancel. Obviously trying to make it difficult to cancel as possible. When I told the guy why I was cancelling, he claimed I'd had a great deal and he couldnt see any probs on my account and I forget how he said it, but basically he put the slow down in turnaround to the fact that the previous fast turnaround wasn't normal and that I'd been lucky to get them that fast. He also said and me recieving my 10th and 11th titles in the list were down to prioritising customers who'd requested the title first. Funny how one minute I get them pretty much all in order and the as soon as the turnaround slows, so my priority list. Its such a shame that these places have to screw with turnaround/priority because I was extremly happy with the sevice prior to this.

If we all quit Lovefilm they will learn that the customer is always right and have to rebuild their reputation from scratch.

As it stanRAB I will not be using them ever again until huge changes are made and they can convince me otherwise.

Why doesn't Blockbuster ever offer promotions that offer additional months for free?

Answer: Because they know how to hold on to their customers by providing them with good value for money. Working the extra Saturday makes a big difference on the turnaround.

It wasn't NetFlix but from the BBC website:

"Video Island - whose main brand is Screen Select - operates Tesco, ITV, MSN and Easycinema's operations; while Lovefilm handles Sainsbury's, WH Smith, CD Wow and Film Four's services"

As they own Screen Select who were going to be my next choice, I'm lost now.

Customer Services got back to me with the stock excuse of not enough films in my queue ( I've got 18, admittadly all new releases, but even so ).

Might freeze the account until they either get their act together, or more likely the new releases I want are more readily available.

So the merger should have produced a better hybrid company with increased stock levels, economies of scale, and alledgedly Screen Selects better customer rating.

Bah !

Just to update everyone on my cancellation. Phoned them last Wednesday to cancel. Was told their systems were down and to phone back. Told them to write down my cancellation request and process it manually when their systems were up. I then cancelled my bank card so they couldn't get another months dosh.

Finally got an email this morning (30th) saying my account had been cancelled. (I wonder if that's because they couldn't get any more money out my account ??)

Maybe I'm being a bit cynical tho you never know these days.

Anyway, glad to be rid of them !! Hmmm, now where should I get my films from now ?.. ;)

I get not for rental DVRAB from nearly all the online rental companies.

I don't think any of them care to be quite honest. Basically any dvRAB that are not rental only versions (which are the majority) should not be rented out. It probably says this on most of the boxes.

Exactly! Not all of us are DVD pirates you know.

I get my post between 07:15 & 07:30 and as I'm disabled it's easy for me to watch 3 or 4 DVD's in a day, my wife might want to watch one for her on the DVD player upstairs and ditto the kiRAB too. Dead easy, sometimes 3 in a day is not enough. And as my nearest postbox is right outside my house there's no problem getting them back in the post either.

LoveFilm are now seriously taking the pee pee.

All three DVRAB returned Monday this week. They say one despatched Monday I received Wednesday. Other 2 not being despatched until Tomorrow.

I have a queue of 40 DVRAB too.

The first 3 weeks were fine. No breaks in supply.

Then 4 times on the trot they kept saying that 3 disks were despatched at the same time, only for 2 of them to turn up a day later.

Now, well I've no idea what they're doing. Except they obviously want rid of me. I'm costing them too much money.

What I object to that they if they should say, "Service limited to x number of disks" not "unlimited". Then we'd all know where we stand.

I do know a couple of people who'm i'm going to encourage to take up the free trial, only to cost LoveFilm more money - I'm that angry with their stupid cut & paste replies to questions that don't answer the question and blame the Postal Service for disks that haven't been despatched.

If you'd like to complain to Essex Trading StandarRAB Office the contact is Mary Cheshire, Trading StandarRAB Officer

Finally got the first title on my list, despite it being there since I joined three months ago - the trick, I hung onto three titles for two weeks.
I know they were being tight but that is ridiculous if that's the only way to get popular titles.

well the whole of last week i got NO films, apart from the one that was sent then wasn`t sent!!

just looked at my rental que today NO films are being sent!!

so out of a list of 67 films they have none in stock, not any of the smallville, no blackadder, no SHANE RICH

I`m going to add a load of fims i don`t really want just to make my list upto 100 films!!!

sent them an email see what bull about moving they give me

Tesco/Screen Select have been good for me, discs turned around on the same day they are recieved and usually arrive next day. Tesco have a free 14 day too.

When LF send out a dvd to you it always arrives the next day but yet it takes 3-5 days to arrive back again????

I'm on the 4DVD package and i'm lucky if i'm even getting 4 a week!!!
They make sure your dvd's don't arrive back until Wednesday so that you can't get them turned around before the weekend!!!

I dont think jaybee24UK actually cancelled the service officially, I think they just let their membership lapse after the credit card expiry date, which probably means Lovefilm continued billing in lieu.

I've just emailed them today, giving them the link for this thread, and telling them of my being fed up with the bad service. Everyone else should do the same, it's the only way they'll take notice.

I had a bit of slow down, but it seems to be picking up today, the one I sent back yesterday is now processing. However they do like sending from down the bottom of the list. But still, I actually want everything on the list so I don't really care. If I really want a specific film I will rent normally.

Yeah, just received one as well. I haven't previously took up their 3-for-1 offer - I just cancelled due to duff service.
