Bought mine for 14.97 in a Kwik Save in Neston. It was the first time I've been in there, this disc is being sold almost anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw a Return Of The King street stall. What's the deal with the 28 pound recommended retail price?
Got mine from asda then bought the mug for a quid from whsmiths!
I got it early morning but couldnt watch it till evening.
There seems a distinct lack of special features... not even a preview of the LOTR:EE. However did you guys notice on the National Geographic documentary that they used footage not in the movies? MOST noticeable of course being Legolas drinking beer, but then takes which were'nt used in the movie!
I think the ROTK is meant to be 4 hours 20 mins in the extended version. We have the extended of both of the other films. Apparently if you bought the section of the Two Towers with only helms deep and you had the completely uncut version, it would be over 10 hours long just by itself!
if i'm correct i think the extended version is out in november.i'll wait till then as i have the other two with the extended versions.i cant wait.
until then i'm not going to rent it out.even though its killing me.
God its gonig to be a long wait till the extended version!!!!
Had to rent it out last week just to see what happens but now im looking forward to the extended version which we will do over a few days watching te other 2 first!!!
To be fair many films are cut extensively from the "first version" a director/editor produces for all kinRAB of reasons.
For a recent example: Star Trek Nemesis ( depending on your source) had between 20 and 40 minutes cut - thank God
For a 3 hour film, which is intricately plotted, cuts of an hour or more are hardly a surprise.
