Lost photo files in folder.?

I lot a file by moving it from the pictures section over to the left where windows shows all the files. It disapeared and I dont have a clue where it has gone. I searched for the file name and could'nt find it. Surely it's in there somewhere but I cant find it. It was a whole folder that was lost with some photos I really would like to get back. Can anyone help me ?
