I have just recently got in contract with att. I havent exceeded the 14 day trial period. I lost my phone that was purchased with the contract, and would like to cancel the contract without additional fees. What will be the issue here if this is done? please help. I dont want to pay for any additional fees!

There is no fourteen day trial period on phones. You have thirty days to change your mind about service. You can return the phone within thirty days to avoid early termination fees for ending your contract prematurely. You must return the phone or pay the full retail price of the phone. After thirty days you cannot return the phone. You pay the early termination fee and usage charges for service.

Since you asked in another thread about how to avoid detection of an iPhone, you obviouusly have not lost your phone. Your contract is for service and not for the phone. You are still under contract whether you still have the phone or not.

lol damn your good......but yes those were my intentions. I hate at&t and their senceless service, so i want to cancel the service and keep the phone. I have the iphone and want a tmobile service. The phone is already jailbroken and unlocked, so this works just fine. If i have no other way besides the $175 early termination, would consider that route. But that will be my last option. But for now, a way around the data plan will have me keep at&t for now. any suggestions?

If you have an iPhone and wish to remove the data plan, you are SOL. Also, if you wish to move to T-Mobile mid-contract AT&T will charge you the ETF--no questions asked. You signed a contract; you are liable for it. Unless you had an uniformed representative or simply have not read it anywhere else--doubtful on both--you were well aware that the data plan was a requirement. I see no way around what you're attempting to do without you facing some penalty.
