Has anyone else had problems with verizon dropping their calls lately? Starting yesterday I had more than 30 dropped/lost calls, which is completely unacceptable. I am in southwest Virginia which is in the mountains, but right next to interstate 81, which runs next to Virginia Tech and Radford University. Alot of us at Radford have had this problem occur lately, but I wasn't sure if it was just limited to us. When I called verizon, they told me to do *228, which didn't work at all. And it can't be my phone because other people with different phones are having the same problem. So is it just those of us in this area with the problem, or are any other people having it too? Any help that you all could give me would be fantastic!!

Well I live in the opposite corner of the state... and well I admit I'm thinking it's most likely that area you're in... it's just difficult to get good reception in the mountains sometimes... and that area is notorious for bad reception... you might have better luck with a different provider but I'll have to look into it... you might ask around and see what provider has the best reception and fewest dropped calls in the meantime...
Hey, apparently it wasn't just me who was having the problem; almost everyone on the Radford University campus had the same thing happen on the same night. After enough of us complained, Verizon sent someone out and they fixed it. So, we're back to having great reception...I was just worried because even tho we're in the mountains, Verizon has the best reception here, so I had no intentions of switching. But thanks for the reply!

Myself as well as my customers on Verizon around the country have all been experiencing the exact same problems. We all have tracked this back to June 12th when it all started. In contacting Verizon on this issue, gee they dont know why but only state that they are taking over the Altel tower's and upgrading.(Wouldnt you think this would improve service) Some believe that they are switching service to Altel towers because it is cheaper for them to service etc. Bottom line it is happening to everyone I talk to that is a Verizon subscriber and it all started happening to everyone on June 12th. If it continues I hope it bites them in the arse as they start loosing tons of customers.
