Lost and Confused!!

I don't like making these sorts of threads because I like to think that I know what I'm doing, but now I'm a bit lost!!

For the last year I've had a Sony Ericsson S700.
Before that I had a brief spell with a P900 and before that a T610.
Finally, my first phone was a Nokia 7...something. A bit like the one from the first Matrix.

The Sony Ericsson interface and general ease of use is without doubt the best I've ever used in a phone. My sister has a RAZR V3 and compared, the display isn't as sharp, the icons and interface are old and outdated, very pixellated images, and the buttons aren't very good.

But it's renewal time on my contract and seeing as most phones are free I want to get a new one.

The S700 is solid, has a good camera, removable memory, great screen. But it's pretty bulky and heavy
I just got a K608i on a 14-day trial, and unfortunately I'm not impressed enough to keep it.

It's on the 3 network, which has dreadful coverage everywhere that I need to use my phone (at home and work). It looks good, but the keys are tiny and not good enough for my use, and so far it's been on for about 12 hours mostly in standby, and it's already at 58% battery life!!

I'm massively tempted by the upcoming W810, but wondering if there is anything else out there.

My criteria are:
- Must look good
- Must be able to do all regular tasks (SMS, MMS, calls, camera)
- Must have at least 1.3MP camera or above
- Good battery life
- Crisp, clear screen (larger the better)
- Good interface

I'm more of a candybar form factor guy, but I'm open to the idea of a flip phone. I don't really want to upgrade to the walkman version of the S700 as its too similar to what I have now.
The Nokia 8800 really appealed to me, but it's not even got a 1MP camera, its battery life isn't very good, yet its twice as heavy as an equivalent SE model, and also very expensive.

You sound like you are in Europe. At this point in time you could buy an unlocked Nokia 6630 relatively cheap off the internet. Either that or if you want smaller, the Samsung SGH-Z500. Both are 3G and will work on the 3 network. Don't forget to get the unlocked version or it will not work if it came from another network.

Yep, I'm in the UK

I meant to add - I'm not tied into the network. I can send the phone back within 14 days and have it disconnected, etc. that's not an issue.
I'm sure the phone would be marginally better on Vodafone (my current network) which has better coverage, but if I'm going to renew a contract with them paying what I do currently then I might as well get a new phone too.
