Losing SD Card Support - Palm TX

I just upgraded from a Palm Zire 71 to a Palm TX and I'm having a number of problems.

The most serious one is that my SD card slot doesn't appear to work. It believes there is no card there, evne when there is. I called Palm support and they had me do a hard reset, and that seemed to fix it - I could see all my cards then. But not so fast. After hotsyncing, again I had lost my ability to see any of my cards, even read-only ones.

Clearly, something is going wrong during the sync, but I really don't know how to troubleshoot this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If it works after a hard reset but not after the first hotsync, it sounds like it could be a software conflict. Did you notice approximately when the T|X stopped recognizing the card?

I'd suggest performing another hard reset. Install each of your third party applications one at a time and check if it stops recognizing the SD card.
 
Do a hard reset. Rename your backup folder, DO NOT hotsync where anything from you 71 can install on the T|X. Install your apps on the T|X using Quick install. Do the first hotsync. To retrieve you contacts notes and memos, drag and drop them from your old remaned folder to the new one, the contents ONLY, NOT the whole folder. Like Notepad.dat and address.dat. Hotsync to put it all on the T|X and you are set.

NOTES -
KEEP the same hotsync name as you had on your 71, that way your registrations will work.

Download the latest version of your apps and install them. Before you install anything on the SD card, if you have a card reader, (one on a printer will work too) delete everything in each folder except pics and music. This will eliminate any conflicts that may pop up later, just to be extra safe.

I keep a notebook of all my registration in alphabetical order just for this reason. I print the e-mail or page when I purchase them.

THE BEST THING TO DO- buy uninstall manager and install it first thing, the first thing bfore installing any provided apps in rom, you can delete them if you desire later. Then get backup buddy.
