Lord of the rings Question

In the first film Gandalf falls down the big hole with the Balrog, then we find out in the Two Towers that actually he did not die but fell with the Balrog - then it flashes to Frodo. Later on Gandalf returns and tells how he thought the Balrog, but the flash shows him fighting the demon on a snow capped peak - did i miss something???

He fell through fire and ice with the balrog..and ended up on a mountain top, where he fought the demon.

they fell through the earth, and landed in a massive pool of water ..... then had a little rest, waded out the pool ..... took a bus to the mountaintop, and continued the fight!!!

This is correct they couldnt afford a black cab, the mini cab driver didnt know the route and the train drivers were on strike.

I loved that trilogy - Elijah Wood who played Frodo fascinated me and I had the hots for Aragorn and Legolas - mmm men in leather on horseback

I thought they just kept on fighting and fighting...ive recently been watching the whole trilogy (extended version) in my lunch breaks and shameful to say i cant remember how many days exactly, but he definitly fights for more than a few days...they were all over the place.
