I have to read this over the summer for Honors English 9, and I was just wondering what it was about......is it hard? I don't want to read it yet, I am saving it for the family reunion drive to Kansas(woo).

It's a really good novel. You realllly have to think about it though. If you just read it, half the stuff won't make sense, but if you find the irony, themes, symbolism in it, you sure as hell will respect it a lot more.
It's basiacally a novel about a bunch of kids who get stranded on an island during war and you get to read as they change from civilized top-notch rich school boys, to savages. It shows how completely animal like we are, as soon as government, laws, and the city setting is taken away from us.
It's a good book
Read it in grade 10.
