Lord of the Flies the book?

what do u think were some historical events that may have cause the author of lord of the flies to write about the themes and issues she did
 
well the world war that was going on during the time sequence of that book. not much else it was just the idea that certain situations can lead to bad things. like a bunch of boys stranded on an island & they start a war with each other.
idk i didnt really like that book all too much.
