Looks like no extraordinary Phone incentive is forthcoming for lowly Alltel customers

Well, it's a little more than a week before I have to decide whether or not to re-up with Alltel and lock myself into Verizon before the integration takes full effect.
I was thinking that Verizon would have done more to keep Alltel customers whose contracts are within the upgrade period, but so far Verizon hasn't really offered anything too outstanding, especially for us Alltel customers who are basically on the Voice plans.

I mean Alltel is still offering some pretty good phones for little or nothing with the hassle of rebates, but their real free phones leave a whole lot to be desired. I mean the W315, AX155 and AX300 are not exactly stellar phones. Even the old, "dumbed down" V3A RAZR requires a rebate.

I am beginning to wonder if Verizon (Alltel) is going to offer anything before the integration takes effect here in North Carolina. I used to be able to at least go to Let's Talk and get a deal in my area, but they are apparently part of the conspiracy. If I were getting a Smart Phone package, then I could get a Pearl for 99 cents with an instant rebate, I guess that this is just a harbinger of things to come. Verizon has put way more emphasis on trying to dole out the higher priced Smart Phone packages while leaving customers who just want a voice or text plan with stripped down service.

Makes me wonder about tethering myself to Verizon for the next couple of years. T-mobile and US Cellular are looking a little better each day.
