This is just one of the many liabilities that will be too big for BP to control. Any tuna fishery will have a claim. Stuff like this makes me think its only a matter of time before BP goes under.

That sucks. Blue fin is already fished to the point where it's damn near endangered. Shit is tasty.

Who's gonna hold BP to it, the government? They have enough money in the bank to get through this and get right back to what they were doing. Sadly we need them. They say, "Fine, we're outta the US." and our gas prices will go through the roof. It's not like they can't go sell their oil to someone else.

Problem with overfishing was China and Japan as usual. They netted them like crazy without regard for the population or mating because they can get well over $2000 a fish for some of them for high end sushi. It's a mighty tasty fish but we don't see it like we use to due to overfishing. Pretty cool fish too. Smart fuckers.

If you catch a giant 900 pound one you can sell it for like 60k. There are tons of them off the shore in mass

I'm assuming they have assest in a lot of countries, any country that fishes tuna can sue them for the damage they caused to their fishery. Blue fin go back and forth across the atlantic, so even countries on the other side will have a claim

Crazy. Sad you don't see it as available as you use to. All high end restaurants use to have blue fin. Now it's usually yellow fin and shit.

Where else will they go that they don't already go?

Shit is expensive because of japan like you saidthey don't give a fuck and they are willing to pay insane prices for it

A friend used to work on a charter boat, and one trip they caught a big tuna. The guy who charted the boat wanted to keep the whole thing lol like 500 pounds of fish (or whatever it was) Usually the boat keeps it, but they said they would give the guy the cash for selling it, but the dude wanted the fish. It actually ended up on the people's court & the guy was awarded what he would have got for selling it
