Looking to buy used car. Best time? Good deal? Good car? 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT?

Its a Good Deal... CVT Gearbox is Better for Fuel Acconiemy..

CVT is Continuously Variable Transmission.. Which is pretty much just one Gear... and you put ur foot down to 5000RPM and it will increase Speed and the revs wont drop or raise because there is one gear it isnt for people who like to Rev there car to sound cool

Buy it now some one else might try buy it... Just ask for 8500 if no try 8700$
 
It is a 2007 Dodge Caliber SXT with 2.0 engine and CVT transmission. Power locks/windows, cruise control, alloy wheels, side air bags, a/c, tilt wheel. 42000 miles on it in good condition. Price is $8998, hoping to knock it down to around $8500 or less. Should I wait until the new year to buy, or is buying now at the end of the year better? If I buy now I am basically buying a vehicle that in a few days will be a year older, but I am not sure how much if any the price will drop in the next few months due to being that it is a year older.
I don't plan on selling vehicle or trading in anytime soon. Will drive this until something major goes out or I hit the lotto.
