I read a fantastic science fiction short story back in high school (1986) that i've never been able to find again, and unfortunately don't even remember the title. It's about 3 "children", 2 boys and a girl, who seem to be pure consciousness. They don't want the one boy to pick the next pretend game, as everyone always ends up dying in his stories. But they let him ( after he swears it won't happen this time) and they are suddenly in an epic space battle, with huge star ships, and everything. There's a desperate final battle and..BOOM! everyone dies! They decide to play another game..."ok, first...let's pretend we exist." - I seem to recall this being about the final sentence. Thanks for any help on this...I truly love this story and can't wait to read it again
