I remember reading a couple of books when I was younger was fantasy. What I remember was, to live in this land you had to have a magical ability (ex...talk to objects, change shape ect) one of the main characters was like a dwarf that didn't have any magical abilities but had knowledge that nobody could gain. And it was censored, they wouldn't let children know what adults knew it was against the law. And like glasses and pillows and cookies grew on tree/bushes. Now it was a long time since I've read these and I'm trying to explain the best I can.
