I'm looking for something new to listen to and im too lazy to surf the net for hours looking for it. Here's what i currently listen to...

that pretty much covers everything worth listening to.

listen to terror2000 if you like soilwork/darkane, its both of them. listen to bloodbath, since you like opeth & such. bloodbach is a supergroup with members of opeth, katatonia & dan swano.

oh, & try to find some blo.torch stuff. they're pretty hard to find, but really really amazing.

also, they're not swedish. but you'd like decapitated. maybe vader, spastic ink, gordian knot, spiral architect, cryptopsy.
 
oh, i'm definitely call your second dan swano, and raise you Kalmah. if you like bodom, you'll LOVE kalmah.

it's weird how all good metal these days is swedish. the swedes must do something to their children. we need to figure it out, because i want americans to do that too.
 
oh, and evergrey. they're good, and swedish. a little more progressive, but still swedish, and good metal.

i'm not sure if einherjer is swedish, but they're good old fashioned viking metal. and hard to find their shit.

i've been thinking the same thing, and it has to be that they live in a place thats cold most of the year. Seems logical seeing as most of the good american metal is coming out of the northeast these days.
 
They've been some good suggestions so far guys . I'll add a few more, these are all rather brutal swedish (i'm pretty sure there all swedish anyway!) death metal banRAB:

Entombed
Dismember
Carnal Forge
Insision
Spawn of Possession
Strangulation
Nominon
Visceral Bleeding
Immersed in Blood

You should definetely check out Entombed, absolutley spanking death metal You can find info on most of these banRAB at librariusmetallicus
 
All there albums are good really, Entombed are one of those banRAB that just can't seem to put a foot wrong, tho they have flirted with commercialism a little too much at points. There earlier stuff is much more death metally then the new stuff. There first album Left hand path, and the follow up Clandestine are the best of there early stuff. The newer material is much thrash than death, they sound kinda slayer-esque, with Morning rise being the best of the later albums. Only got into them a few months ago, can't believe i went for so long without them!
 
Entombed IMO is at the top of the heap when it comes to Swedish stuff.

Left Hand Path is very death metal, Clandestine is good but man did they ever record that one loud. Wolverine Blues along with the Hollowman EP that came out around the same time are propably their best IMO.

The only one I'd stay away from is Same Difference, it was a POS of an album.

Yattering, Demigod is decent, Hypocrisy is good but i think they might be from norway..
if that makes a difference hehe
at the gates, aint they swedish?
