hi guys, I have run out of cartoons to watch recently (probably because I dont know many). I am looking for either a story-driven cartoon or anime or some with interesting characters.

just to show some toons and animes that I watched and liked and why
(just my opinion)
teen titans (some great characters)

vandread (behind it's superficial look there are excellent characters and nice, imaginative, alternative-universe creation and a story-driven nature)

megas XLR (great characters and a less childlish sense of humour, filled with some social critiques)

invader Zim (nice characters, dark atmosphere and humour)

Digimon (great story-driven nature, ended with a proper ending, when it had to end and it did not continued until it was cancelled or got boring, nice alternative-universe creation)

xiaolin showdown [I think that’s its name in English] ( interesting characters and humour, interesting enemies)

some shows that did not impress me:
total drama island: (unimpressive humour, no universe creation, uninteresting)

ben 10 (feels childish, uninteresting argument.)

I hope that helps to identify some cartoon that I may like, I have been looking around but so far I cant find much in the cartoon spectrum, and I dont know much of anime because I dont know anything about anime. :P

thanks in advance!!

if you don’t understand something about the post tell me/ correct me, my English is not perfect :D

I have to agree, The Secret Saturdays is something you may be interested in watching. It has very interesting characters like Fiskerton, who is my favorite character from the series.

thanks for the suggestions, if someone has any more suggestions post them (either toon or anime) I will check the shows that are already suggested

thanks for the help! :D

Going by what you say you look for in a cartoon/anime (ongoing storylines and interesting characters) you should love One Piece. Personaly, i think it has a feel to it that is in some hard-to-explain way similar to Digimon.

Seconding rattis1's suggestion of One Piece. There's a lot to catch up on, but judging by your taste in shows and speaking from personal experience, you'll likely be sucked into it's universe and get up to speed in no time at all.

If you liked Digimon, check out Monster Rancher. Granted, the main character is extremely obnoxious, and hearing the enemies refered to as 'baddies' can be quite jarring even after extended periods, but behind all that, its a pleasantly solid monster/quest series, with a cast of characters that are fun, likable and surprisingly well developed.
