has anyone tried the rear highway bars? I saw them on a Harley. take a look - O/S Chrome Rear Highway Bars

I would like to find some for my M50 - does anyone know if these would work for my bike?

I have a set on my Harley, but no one makes them for the M50. They usually mount to the shock mount, and then to the bottom of the frame, but the 'soft tale' type fram on the M50 and C50 do not lend themselves to this. They are generally only found on bikes with factory fiberglass saddlebags, like the Harley FLs, and some older Hondas. You could proabably have something fabricated though.

There is one company that makes them for the c-50...I think they are in Germany.. I'll see if I can find that info..
I know someone on the volusiariders forum had them ..maybe ask this question over there...

Cool- those Germans make a lot of trick items for Japanese cruisers. The problem is shipping- I bought an exhaust from Thunderbike in Germany one time, and it was $400 for the exhaust and nearly $300 for shipping outside the European Common Market. Ouch. But there as no place else in the world that carried what I wanted, so I bit the bullet and bought it anyways. Usually the shipping is for the box, so if you find other items the vendor has you want they can stuff them in the same box for no additional shipping charge. So I ended up with about a dozen smaller items along with the exhaust for the same shipping.

I found the bars - the "technical steelership" term is luggage guards. They were 78.95 + tx, not bad. I pick them up on Tuesday. I will post picks when i get it all done. I bought the engine guards and a bigger brake pedal. Next is the floorboards and heel/toe shifter!

I believe what you ordered is also known as saddlebag supports, as far as I know they dont make the rear bars for Suzuki's, only Harley's & Yahmaha's.

Now are those guards just for protecting the bags? Probably would have helped me when I turned mine over after running over a dog. My bags were scraped to hell and back. I've never seen a bike with them before. First look I thought they were for the passenger to grab onto when you're hauling @$$ down the road. He he.
