I've had testing for environmental allergies and am receiving treatment for 28 allergens. I haven't had any obvious food allergies so I haven't had any testing for them before now. On Oct. 2, I had some stomach surgery for reflux. I have basically been on a liquid diet since then. I am now adding soft fooRAB back into my diet. I've been having problems with digestive issues with certain fooRAB as I have tried them for the first time since the surgery. With the surgery I had, there are some swallowing issues, but I shouldn't be having digestive issues. I'm working with a GI doc, but I think that there is a chance I may have some food allergies. Honestly, I've been on multiple allergy meRAB for so long that if I did have some minor allergies they could easily have been masked.
In researching the allergy blood testing, it looks to me like there is a chance of having false negative tests for things you are actually allergic to if you haven't eaten those fooRAB recently. This is a concern to me because there are many fooRAB that I haven't eaten in a while.
Anyone out there who can share their expertise on this? Any input would be appreciated. I have a doc who is writing up orders for me to get the testing done soon.
