Looking for FIRST S60 phone...E50

ok i am looking for my first series 60 phone. Right now i have a 6131 which i love. But like all of us. I want another phone. I have been looking at the E50. So my question is, how good is the e50, rf, receptiion, call quality, speakerphone etc. So E50 users please help me out. thank is advance

Give it some time and e50 users will comment. Although, I can tell you that the speakerphone is probably as weak as most Nokias!

Also seeing that your with cingular you could wait for the N75 thats due for release very soon. A quick search of its specs should show an extreme upgrade over a 6131

thanks for the reply. I know about the n75. Either way i am going to get it. I have a upgrade in march. My gf is using my 6131 at the moment cuz her phone broke. So i am back to the v635 which is beat! just wanting a phone right now. Never used S60. But played with a E62 and loved it. Hope they make a camera version.

i went from a 6230 to an e50 .. i love it.. thinnest nokia out there i think its thinner than the 6230

It is small, super small if you ask me. RF is super. Volume is excellent, I never really have to use it on full volume. Exterior speaker is good. Cam is not all that great, but it isn't bad. For the price it is a great phone.

OH, and once you go S60 it will be hard, very hard to go back to a non smartphone. The E50 is a good start you wont be disappointed. (excluding the cam, I dont know how much you value cams)

My only gripe about the E50 is the small keys, especially the Menu key and the Clear key, i frequently hit the hangup key when pressing clear.

Sure it can. The much larger library of 3rd party applications for 2nd Edition certainly gives s60v3 a run for its money, even if they are catching up.

Whatever happened to those small ever-so-useless apps like Anti-Mosquito or Snowglobe? You won't see those on s60v3.

Well app. wise v2 has it. But all the displays on the v2 phones just dont cut it. The new resolutions and displays on v3 is what makes it hard to compare. I had to go back to using my 7610 a while back and let me tell you it was hard using that screen.
