Looking for an insight

Hi,
I don't know if this will make any sense, but I will try!
In the past few months I been vomitting violently after even small amounts of alchohol - I know how this sounds. To put it into perspective I used to be able to hold my drink very well, rarely suffered from hangovers or suckness as a result. However recently after just 2 drinks i'll be sick 4-5 time during the night. I understand that these things change as you get older but this seems fairly extreme, I'm 23. I have tried everything, such as sticking to one kind of drink, not smoking while drinking, various things friends have mentoined. I'm not hugely fussed as I'm not a big drinker anyway, but it would be nice to enojoy a couple now and again. Also the most recent occurence was tuesday, and althouh I havent been sick since, I feel nauseous after anything I eat, even 2 bits of toast this morning. Also I dont have typical hang-over symptoms the next day, no headache - just sore throat from the vomitting.
Just looking for a bit of insight into this, has anyone experienced anything similar? Could be be connected to anything else? Or have I just developed an intolerance? Is it worth bothering my GP about?
Sorry for rambling on!

You need to see your Doctor and get referred to a Gastro Doctor. You may have an ulcer or gastritis, don't ignore it it's unlikely to go away and will only get worse. All the best.

at the very least, given where the alcohol gets metabolized, getting your hepatic panel run would not hurt any just to see if there could be something a bit more in depth going on with your liver or something else within that GI tract.

like some else mentioned, depending upon just what you are drinking you could just be having some level of allergic type of reaction too. but given that many people can actually just be born with certain types of liver or kidney diseases and just not know it(i found out i had been living my whole life with a liver and kidney disease at age 40)until a scan of the organs gets done or it actually shows up in routine bloodwork, this should just be thoroughly checked out in you.

in my case, despite the massive amounts of real damage done and ongoing in my kidneys and my liver that show up in all my ultrasounds of these organs, i have had NO changes in any of my actual lab work yet only because the damage to any given organ wont show true changes til actual damage or some other factor is actually affecting the overall functions themselves. that is why i never even had a clue this was going on in me. my labs are still within all the normal ranges.

labs alone will never show the whole true picture of how any organ is doing. getting an ultrasound and the bloodwork as well really is the best way to really 'see' that bigger picture in most cases. but i would get this much further evaluated right now. you just really do need to find out what is causing such a dramatic type of reaction to alcohol. just make an appt with your primary for the looksee/bloodwork. good luck and please keep us all posted as to what you find out.
