I've been having severe knee pain when ice skating.
Unless the knee is within a small range of motion, a sharp pain runs east and west right through the knee behind the center of the knee cap. What type of damage am i looking at? If I peddle the bike, to increase quad strength, will it help with the pain and therefore the under lying problem? I have a hunch the pain will subside with rest but what a drag. I should add that I started working hard back in August and I am still working hard to present. Running, biking, squatting and skating. Also, I am 40 years old and have played sports, especially hockey, since i could crawl. How is glucosamine for joints? There are alot of brands out there. What should I look for when shopping for it? Oh yea. The very first day i started working out back in August I hurt my back on one side. I have a history of back trouble. Usually a tweak like that goes away in about 4 days but not this time it has stayed with me to date. Lately, the muscles that run up each side of the spine have been killing me when I skate and terribly so when I am using a puck. I think the little extra hunching over, handling a puck, is what makes it hurt so much that I can't stand. Like I said, I've been at it for a while now with little rest between workouts, but they are different workouts day to day. Will my back heal with rest? how much rest? How about the knee?
