Looking for advice on buying a Jeep Wrangler.?

I'm looking to buy a 2002 wrangler, auto transmission, 90 000 km, about $3500 Canadian. Assuming the car is well kept and accident free, is that a good deal? Approx how many years/km can it still go before it starts to nickel and dime on repairs? I'm a fan of Japanese cars but I have fallen deeply in love with the Jeep Wrangler... I don't know much about American made cars. Please help~!

(Thanks in advance~!)

If it has the 4.0 inline six they can be good for more than 300,000 miles if maintained. That price sounds low is it a 4x4?? The 2.5 4 cyl is reliable and easy to work on but the HP to weight ratio is so bad that it actually gets worse mileage than the 6 cyl.
The Wrangler's are very reliable and simple to work on. Just remember to add some zinc additive to your oil. they don't put zinc in most oils today and older motors need it. Newer cars have roller cams that dont' need zinc (zddp) and they found zinc was causing premature catalytic converter issues.
